Dramatic kanji, sun and splash--this small print epitomizes the Maki style at its height. The kanji streaks across the print, now it is blue now it is black.There is a strong black sun and a sharp yellow plash--and the Maki seal. Yet it is not crowded. The Maki seal at the right is a roll, the Maki of his name.

An oil on Masonite painting of a red roofed mill with the mill pond in the foreground and a barn against a hill in the distance. Painted in an unusual palette that includes lavender. I have been unable to find a listing for the artist. In a new frame. 10 by 12 inches, with frame 12.5 by 14.5 inches.

Condition: excellent.

Though it is difficult to date, I suspect it is from the middle of the 20th century and most likely to be American.

I do not see a listing by this name or similar possibilities, though there was an artist Adriaan Terhell who painted windmills in watercolor...

Anders Zorn 1860-1920 Sweden This is an original pencil signed impression of the well known etching, Valkulla by Swedish artist Anders Zorn, 1860-1920. This impression measures an image area 11 3/4X7 3/4 inches. Printed on a watermarked, laid type sheet, very wide borders all around, in nice condition, very light even toning to the sheet where the window mat once exposed it to the light, but unobtrusive, this is a very fine and rich impression, printed on a buff toned sheet. Lovis Corinth 1858-1925 German This is an original drypoint etching by German Expressionist artist Lovis Corinth (1858-1925) The title of this work is: "Alter Mann" (the old man) It was created and printed in 1916. The image measures 6 5/8X4 3/4 inches. Signed in pencil in the lower border.Printed on a light weight laid type paper, very nice condition.

This is an antique 18th-century, circa 1740 AD, oil portrait of King Augustus III (October 17, 1696 – October 5, 1763), hand-painted on heavy, hand-woven canvas with great attention to detail.

From 1733 to 1763, he was the King of Poland, Grand Duke of Lithuania, and Elector of Saxony.

The king is depicted wearing armor and a blue moiré silk sash of the Polish Order of the White Eagle...

In 1971 Haku Maki produced two large prints, one Sun and one Moon. Sun shows a dramatic sun with a red dash all surrounded by a gold field-- Poem 71-100. Poem 72-101 is Moon with a similar design. There is a dark spot in the center. Each print was produced in editions of 156. This pair was offered privately and on eBay by a very insightful seller from Tennessee. After these presumably successful runs Maki did a smaller pair, each with the same title and same design...

A beautiful well painted oil of a mother and child well framed, by multicolor modernist signed by Israeli artist Kay known for his work of native born Israel people.

A large etching titled, “Veduta della Gran Curia Innocenziana,” (View of the Palazzo di Monetcitorio) part of Giovanni Battista Piranesi’s folio of Views of Rome, first published in 1752. The etchings were often reproduced, but this one has both the correct heavy laid paper with appropriate watermark and the center crease where it was folded into the original folio. It has good margins beyond the plate mark. Sheet size 21 ¼ x 29 ¾ inches (54 x 75.4 cm)...

The piece measures 10" by 8" (19" by 16 1/2" in attractive, complementary silvery framing). Both painting and frame are in excellent condition.
