Attractive, vintage watercolor painting of colorful flowers in a sunny garden, measuring 9 1/2" by 14" (16" by 21" framed). This lovely work is apparently unsigned--I have opened the backing to peer inside and see neither signature nor any other information besides numbers in pencil. The painting does have some age. The artist clearly had an excellent command of the watercolor medium. The custom mat with hand drawn lines and silvery border adds to the appeal...

Etching of a young woman in dreamy sleep, 11 1/2" by 8 1/2" (14 3/4" by 11 3/4" simply framed), titled in the plate "Die Rosen", signed in the plate and again in the margin below in pencil by the German-born artist OTTO GOETZE (1868-1945). The artist's name is also sometimes spelled "Goetz" and some cite a death date of 1931. Goetze was born in Germany and was in San Francisco by 1930. Though evidently little known, judging at least from this sensitively rendered print, he was a master etcher...

This appears to be an image in gouache on top of some kind of waxy scratchboard, measuring 10" by 14" (17" by 20 3/4" as framed), signed at lower left "DE GUST" and dated there "59". I can't find a listing for the artist but he or she painted in a classic style pioneered by the likes of Jean Le Mayeur and others in the history of modern Indonesian art. The painting is in excellent condition, and is ready for the wall in its simple black frame and clean mat.

Early 19th century Swiss drawing titled on reverse "paysanne", 7" by 5 1/2" (12 1/4" by 10 1/2" as framed), unsigned. This is a fine drawing by a talented hand. I imagine that the artist would be listed were it signed. Condition is excellent. It is taped at top only to the underlying matting materials.

Gouache on paper drawing of a snowy mountain landscape with low structures depicted almost cubist style in the middle distance, apparently unsigned, circa mid 20th century, 12 1/4" by 16 1/2" inside the mat, 21" by 24" as framed. The cubistic handling of the houses reminds of artists like Andrew Dasburg and other New Mexico modernists, but this is just a guess. The colors are fresh and quite vigorous. The drawing is taped along the edges to a backing.

This is a 20th century restrike of the 1859 etching "Thames Police" (also known as "Wapping Wharf", by the famous American artist JAMES ABBOTT McNEILL WHISTLER (1834-1903). This was printed on a thick, creamy paper at some point in the 20th century. Details in the print are very sharp. The plate mark is quite pronounced. An example of the 1960's poster by the prestigious Galerie Berggruen in Paris, printed on the occasion of the exhibition of works by Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky. The work pictured is Klee's 1930 watercolor "Spectre d'un Guerrier". The poster, printed by Jacomet, Paris, measures 27 1/2" by 19 1/2", and is in a silvery metal frame at present. The gray and light washy blue and silver and black make an elegant modern statement. Condition appears excellent (not examined out of frame)...

Oil on canvas impressionist still life of flowers, 24" by 30" (30" by 36" in the vintage, period frame), signed at lower right by listed California artist Edwin L. Forker (1876-1958). Born in Pennsylvania, Forker was in California by 1918. He is known today for the body of decorative paintings he left for posterity. This work is in excellent condition, having come directly from a West Los Angeles house where it was displayed for many years.
