Watercolor painting of a stand of leafless trees in late autumn, a small stream flowing through, 11" by 8" framed, apparently unsigned. I would imagine this dates to the 1920's or 1930's most likely. I did open up the backing and could find neither signature nor any other information, though I feel the work quite likely by a listed artist. I purchased the painting in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Condition is excellent...

Continental hand painted porcelain plaque, 19th century period, depicting a three quarter length view of a young girl in a headdress, after the 'Portrait of Beatrice Cenci' by Guido Reni, held in a gilt oval frame inside a rectangular frame with velvet lining, plaque titled in graphite verso\ 6.5"h x 4.75"w, frame 11"h x 8.5"w. No condition issue is noted.

This is an excellently and intricately carved boxwood very charming netsuke,made by the native of Ukraine Alexander Derkachenko. It depicts a seated Okame who is laughing as she holds a large Cucumber. Signed in seal form. Netsuke is stained in tan and brown colors. It measures 1.21 inches (3.1cm) wide, and 1.52 inches (3.8cm) tall. It is in outstanding condition, as may be seen in the posted photos. A contemporary watercolor painting, the subject an arid landscape with adobes and a flat-topped butte in the distance, signed at lower left by artist "Kimura" who dated the work '97. The piece measures 9" by 6" (15 1/2" by 12 1/2"). The barbed wire foreground fence adds to the Southwest ambience. Condition is excellent, frame has slight wear.

A large, impressive drawing on paper, 26" by 42" (30" by 46" in strip framing), the subject "on the range"---cowboys and their cattle on the range in a beautiful, luminous, "Marlboro Man" landscape. The artist signed at lower right and dated the piece 1979. I believe the media used are gouache, pastel, and maybe color pencil, which he was known to employ...basically, a "mixed media" drawing, and very large for a drawing...

Oil on board painting of a peaceful lake surrounded by forest and peaks in the distance, 11" by 18" (16 1/4" by 23 1/2" in wood frame), unsigned, circa late 1940's to 1950 or so, but executed in an earlier style that goes back to the early years of the century. A beautifully painted unframed work by an anonymous talented hand, late 20th century or later, on canvas, 26 1/2" by 22 1/2", featuring an old-country view of house and courtyard in a valley setting. The flickering, spontaneous impressionist brushwork is impressive. Sadly, the artist did not sign the piece. Excellent condition, needing only a frame.
