The painting is signed at lower left by the artist and dated there 1975, and at lower right he wrote a dedication to previous owners "Pour Balli & John". The scene, an avenue leading into a small town or village, is at once impressionist and also Expressionist, with strong brush strokes especially in sky, and some points of bright color...

Oil on canvas painting of a young blued-eyed blonde woman in circa 1940 hat and provocative gauzy top, 24" by 18" (31" by 24 1/2" framed), signed at lower center by listed French artist CESAR VILOT. There does not seem to be a biography of Vilot but his works of sprawled female nudes and ballerinas show him to be a talented painter of women. This work somewhat resembles the work of artist Jean Gabriel Domergue. Condition is excellent; frame shows some wear especially at left...

The artist signed at lower right "L Florguin" and dated the work 1953. Very surprisingly I see only scant information under this name. However the artist was obviously very familiar with the French naive school painters who flourished in the immediate post-war years. Measurements are 18" by 13" on the stretchers and 23 1/2" by 18 1/2" in "distressed"...

Oil on canvas painting, 25" by 34 1/2", unframed, unsigned, after the French impressionist masters Renoir and Monet, who often painted on the Mediterranean in the late 19th century. This is a contemporary work by an anonymous artist. Colors are beautifully handled, as is the golden light. There is a 2" long generally horizontal small tear in the blue of the sea at left center, easily patched by a professional restorer, though (and I generally don't recommend it) it could be pretty much hidden...
