Lovely impressionist oil painting of trees bordering a small river or lake, painted on canvas, 22" by 18" (26" by 21 1/2" framed), signed at lower right "Michael Kawasaki", and signed again on the reverse and dated there 1997. I have not located information on the obviously talented and trained artist. The work's impressionistic brushstrokes, the handling of light and color, is just fabulous, reminiscent of the French impressionists of the late 19th century...

Small oil on canvas laid on board painting of a desert, mid to late 20th century, 4 1/2" by 6 1/2" (11 1/2" by 10" framed), signed at lower right by California desert painter KENNETH WALFORD. This is a rather typical example of the work of this artist. I have handled a number of Walford's works. Most feature desert landscapes. Biographical information on the artist seems to be scarce at this time. The painting is lightly soiled, linen liner is stained at upper right.

A nicely painted contemporary work on canvas, unsigned, 12" by 16", unframed, featuring a landscape of trees with early autumnal colors showing. The piece is in excellent condition. Needs a frame which should be easy/economical as the size is a "standard" size. The anonymous artist has created a very pleasing work; an excellent understanding of both impressionist theory as well as light and color is evident.

Oil on canvas colorful and skillfully painted abstract landscape of the glorious Southwest, 27 1/2" by 36" as framed, signed at lower right "Helen Peeke", and bearing the title "Indian Country" and the original price "150.00" on the stretcher. I have not been able to locate information on the artist but obviously she was a skilled painter who was able to capture the feeling of the Southwest in abstracted form. Condition is excellent and this is wall-ready.

An impressionist painting on canvas, unframed, 16" by 20", signed by a contemporary artist "RG", the subject a covered bridge of the northeastern states. The work is in excellent condition, and the standard size means it should be easy and economical to find a suitable frame.

By the contemporary Japanese artist HIROMICHI YAMAGATA (1948-). this can be described as a collage of tissue like paper on which is drawn in pencil and blue ink an abstract, almost biomorphic decorative design, charcoal used to create a smudged background, then the paper was affixed around the edges to a white canvas background. Ideal addition to kitchen or pantry area, a well-painted little still life of green and yellow zucchini squash, and an onion, 7 1/2" by 11 1/4" inside the linen mat, 11" by 15" framed, signed on the back of the canvas "Duffy '95". The framer's label is from Chicago so our artist may have been from Illinois. This is a decorative work and the skill of the artist is obvious. There is light wear to the frame. I had to open up the backing to find the signature and date.

In the style of popular Thomas Kinkade or Marty Bell, this is an original oil on canvas, 11" by 14" (17" by 20" framed), the subject a cozy cottage-like house set in a flowering garden, the welcoming lights all on. The painting is signed at lower left "N LaFond". If you enjoy the Kinkade style but would like an original work instead of a print, you may well like this piece. Condition is excellent, frame has a little wear.
