Jonas Lie (Norwegian/American, 1880-1940) - A large size landscape painting of a stand of white birch trees by a lake, with mountains in the background. Oil on canvas. Signed in lower left. Jonas Lie was a Norwegian born American painter, known for his paintings of the coastlines of New England and city views of New York City.

This is an antique painting of a rose in a tall glass vase, 13 1/2" by 5 3/8" framed, unsigned, circa 1900. Found in Rockland, Maine. The work, being of an unusual shape, might be that perfect addition to your narrow little space. There is wear on frame and the painting has even light soiling consistent with its age.

This is an ORIGINAL WORK, not a print, by the famous American artist EDNA HIBEL (PLOTKIN), recently deceased at age 97 in Florida. The painting of two young figures, one evidently playing a lute-like instrument, is a mixed media work (oil and watercolor) on silk which has been laid down to a Masonite panel. The painting is deliberately painted in a very pale fuzzy blonde light, with pastel tones, making it somewhat difficult to photograph due to the lack of strong contrasts. The materials suggest a circa 1950's or late 1940's date of execution.

A primitive, circa 1880's oil on gray board landscape painting in the Hudson River style, with trees, water, and tiny figures completing the view. Measurements are 18 3/4" by 24 1/2", unframed. There is no signature. The board is slightly warped from old moisture exposure, which caused paint instability/flaking/losses at top couple of inches, as shown, and cracking at lower right. There are also a few light abrasions as shown.
