An oil on panel laid on Masonite, the subject apples on a surface, one peeled, the work signed at lower left by listed Midwest artist JULIUS G. SEGALL (1860-1925). The 9" by 12" work (14" by 17" in later gold frame) draws from a long tradition of still life painting of fruit in Europe, and later 19th century America (from the Peales through Martin Johnson Heade and on to the Fall River School of Massachusetts). Segall was born in Prussia and spent his early years in Milwaukee...

Oil on canvas, 24" by 30" (30" by 36" as framed), the subject a peaceful northeastern cove, which we learn from a penned notation on the reverse is, in fact, Canada, in the province of Nova Scotia. Viewers online have confirmed to me that this is definitely Peggy's Cove on the Atlantic coast. The oil bears a professional-looking signature at lower right: R. Miller...

This is an antique painting of a rose in a tall glass vase, 13 1/2" by 5 3/8" framed, unsigned, circa 1900. Found in Rockland, Maine. The work, being of an unusual shape, might be that perfect addition to your narrow little space. There is wear on frame and the painting has even light soiling consistent with its age.

Oil on canvas still life of peaches and compote in the East Coast style of the latter part of the 19th century, 21" by 27", presently unframed, signed at lower left "C H Harmon" and dated what appears to be 1880 (or, 1880 something, difficult to read last digit). This is a skillfully painted still life in the tradition of eastern masters like the Ream's, or members of the so-called Fall River School. The table appears to be Eastlake Victorian, with its marble top...

A very interesting and unusual painting, appearing to be gouache on a prepared gessoed panel (and the piece is accordingly quite heavy for its size), featuring Native American indian dancers and onlookers in the Southwest, likely Navajos of New Mexico or northeastern Arizona. The 22 1/2" by 27" unframed work is signed at lower right "Arline Wyrick". A quick google search did not reveal any obvious links to a known artist, but she was obviously quite skilled, and this bears further research...

The work is very 1940's/1950's in feeling, almost mural-like. Ignatiev escaped Russia for China during the revolution and was in San Francisco by 1923, where he studied with Gleb Ilyin...

A very nice 19th century Mexican tin retablo illustrating “El Nino de Atocha”. According to tradition, Christ appeared in the guise of a small child to feed the hungry Christian prisoners of the town of Atocha during the Moorish invasion of Spain. The retablo illustrates the boy wearing his traditional garb and carrying his usual water gourd on the end of a staff and a food basket. Bouquets of flowers are arranged at his feet...
