Oil on canvas extensive mountain and trees landscape laid on board, 8" by 10" (10 1/2" by 12 1/2" framed), unsigned, circa late 1920's to mid 1930's. I am certain that this is by a listed artist but sadly there's just no hint as to who created this. The scene could be western, or eastern; hard to tell. It was found in Southern California. I would lean towards it being a western scene...

This was once a beautiful late 1950's period example of Italian abstract art, executed by the listed artist, from Venice, Italy, GIOVANNI GIULIANI (1893-1965). Unfortunately due to careless storage by one or many owners (it was exposed to moisture), combined with the artist's choice of materials, it is now a restorer's special, worthy of conservation. I have received a quote of $400 to have it relined so that it can safely travel...

Oil on canvas extensive view of a town of red-roofed houses by the sea, a colorful garden and balustrade railing in the foreground, executed by an unknown artist, likely in the latter years of the 20th century. The artist painted a highly impressionistic work (27" by 31", 35 1/2" by 40" framed) in cheerful, light, sunny colors. The work is very decorative and is in perfect condition, so would be an item that you could hang on the wall immediately. Frame is in almost perfect condition as well...

Oil on canvasboard painting of red tulips in a bright yellow vase on a tabletop, two apricots or peaches at lower left, unsigned, in a gold frame in wall-ready condition. This is likely by the hand of a talented amateur painter, but it all "works", with bright attractive colors and a clean overall appearance. The entire work as framed measures 16 1/2" by 13 1/2". Oil on canvas contemporary landscape of a jagged high mountain peak, trees and a large boulder catching the atmospheric light in the foreground, unframed, 36" by 24", signed at lower right with a signature that resembles "Joseph Eugene" or "Joseph Evgeny". The artist has handled dawn or sunset light to great effect, as did many of the Hudson River artists. An alpenglow lights up the peak, and a sunbeam lights up the boulder...

Oil or acrylic on canvas, unframed, 10" by 14", unsigned, the work painted in a harmonious and quite modern mix of varying shades of purples and greens, topped with white drips, the result a pleasing work that would look great in a contemporary or mid century setting. You would not necessarily have to frame this before hanging it on the wall. Condition is excellent.

One could call this work a homage to Jackson Pollock and Sam Francis: colorful drips in red, blue, yellow and gray, on an inky black background, 20 1/4" by 24 1/2" as simply framed in silvery metal behind Plexiglas. There is no signature. A fine choice if you are looking for original abstract art for your mid century or modern interior.

This is a very contemporary work, unframed, on a wood or masonite panel, 8 3/4" by 12", signed (incised) at lower right corner "EW" and dated there "01". The scene is a city street, depicted in rather bright color, in an impressionist technique; what is quite unusual here is the added medium used, the surface obviously having been worked with wax (I believe this might be called "encaustic" when used in a painting)...

Oil on canvas, 12" by 15 3/4", unframed and unsigned, the subject a pensive figure, likely a male, seated on a breezy patio with French doors, curtains and a Paris-style small cafe table and chairs, a tea or coffee service on the table. The anonymous artist created a very appealing, contemporary little work, with impressive impressionist technique. The painting is in excellent condition with just a bit of stretcher bar show-through at top...

Vertical format colorful oil painting of a mounted cowboy making his way through a steep canyon in the Southwest or Rockies as the afternoon's last sun reddens a crag at right, a dramatic cloud beyond the "V" shaped notch topping an expansive and empty land beyond. The painting, measuring " by ", unframed, has some age but I doubt it would have been painted earlier than about the mid 1950's, judging from the stretcher and stapled canvas...

Oil or acrylic on canvasboard abstract painting, larger sized, at 28" by 40" as framed, signed at lower left "KAYE". The art takes after any number of modern painters' work, but the arrows imagery at the bottom portion, suggests to me a bit of Uruguayan painter Joaquin Torres Garcia. The creator of this work (and two others by the same artist I have listed) was probably a talented amateur with an excellent sense of color and a knowledge of modern art. Condition is good...

Oil on plywood painting 24" by 29" (" by " framed), signed at lower right "F. Sullivan '53", signed again on the reverse "F. Sullivan" and titled there "High Park Toronto". The painting of trees and a pool of water is created with palette knife especially in lower portion...

Oil on canvas painting, unsigned, contemporary, unframed, 24" by 36", executed in retro 1960's and 1970's colors: olive, powder blue, orange, white. If your interior is modern and skewing towards the "Pan Am" days, then this will surely please. It has a few light scuffs and soiling that might be removable with light soapy water--see photos.

Oil on canvas of a mysterious red cabbage on a string and an orange gourd on a tiled surface, windows beyond looking out onto a hilly landscape, 16" by 20" (23 1/2" by 27" signed "Hernandez" and dated 1995 at lower right. The painting should probably be reframed, as the cream liner is soiled. The painting has some yellowed varnish but otherwise is in good condition.

Oil on canvas painting of a picturesque old water mill located on a stream in high alpine mountains, 22" by 30" (29 1/2" by 38" framed), not signed on the front side but the reverse side shows post-1885 stretcher keys, and pencil writing which identifies the scene as "The Valley of Jen(bach)? Switzerland", and the artist as "Louise Goodman 1914". The artist does not appear to be listed. The scene might possibly have been painted after an original by another artist of the 19th century...

Oil on canvas laid on board, 21" by 34" (26" by 39" as framed), unsigned, circa 1880 I would guess, the painting consisting of a classic Hudson River view with steep hills bordering a river, a boat completing the scenery. There is a very nice luminosity to this particular example, a very nice handling of the light in the leaves of the trees. The painting has an approximately 5" long horizontal old cut in lower portion as shown, not unusual for a work of this age...

Oil on canvas, 18" by 21 1/4", unframed, signed at lower right "A. Alvarez", the subject a colorful flower stall "La Flor de la Rambla" in an obviously European (Spanish, no doubt) town. The work is in need of a frame but otherwise is ready for display. Presently there is an inner frame remnant but no true frame.
