BILAN and dated 1954. The artist does not appear to be listed but was talented. The strong contrast of the seasons portrayed makes the pair very complementary. This is a mixed media work by the eminent, major Iraqi artist KHALID AL RAHAL (1926-1987), the subject being seven individuals grouped into what looks like two families with children. The painting is apparently a plaster mix covered by resin, on panel, standing out in three dimensional relief, and then painted, the work measuring 15 1/2" by 19 1/2" (21 3/8" by 25" as framed). It is signed at lower left "Kalid" and dated there "64"...

Small oil on canvas (9" by 6 1/2", 13"by 10" framed), laid on plywood panel painting of a dark green mountainside, some autumn leaves beginning to appear on two spindly trees, apparently unsigned, circa late 19th century. The painting probably dates to about 1880 but has been laid on the plywood in recent decades (some waxy drips on the plywood as seen). There is some craquelure with a few pinpoint losses. I have searched in vain for any hint as to who the artist might have been...
