The subject matter is rather typical of the artist's work. Weber was from the Philadelphia area and often painted rural, bucolic local landscapes in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Sheep are often found in his compositions and this painting certainly includes them...

This is a quite early work by an artist now firmly established in the contemporary impressionist art scene nationally, GREGORY FRANK HARRIS (1953-). Harris was born in Southern California to parents that included a painter mother...

An American impressionist coastal seascape painting on the rough side of a Masonite panel, 12" by 16" (19" by 22 1/2" in quality gold frame), signed at lower right by artist Erna Gruenbaum. Oddly, considering the quality, there is no listing of an artist by this name. The painting probably dates to the 1950's or thereabouts. The frame has very light wear but retains its value.

Contemporary unframed American painting (24" by 36"), the subject a middle-aged man, seated, superimposed on a complex patterned background, signed at lower right corner "Tayler". I have been unable to link this to a known artist, but the painting is quite edgy and advanced, and technically skilled, reminding of the work of known artists who paint in what I imagine might be called the "Contemporary Realism" style. I am reminded a bit of David Hockney...

Watercolor on paper, 12" by 17", unframed (white mat only, in protective sleeve), executed in a modernist style reminiscent of famous Swiss artist Paul Klee, the scene including three figures and several Old World style stone towers and other suggested architecture depicted in an almost cubist manner, signed at lower right and dated there "62" by the listed Swiss artist ROMOLO ESPOSITO (1913-1991). This work is hard to describe but easy to appreciate...

Ralph Smith studied at PAFA, and exhibited extensively there and at the National Academy of Design, etc. One of a number of works by this artist currently available.

This mid 20th century work is painted in an impressionist style. The balanced composition, muted colors and flickering brush strokes make for a very attractive work. Note the many figures and rich architectural detail. Measurements are 24" by 30" (31" by 37" framed)...

McKAY (circa 1880-possibly 1969---biographical information is scarce online)...

Original watercolor by Nechemia Stencel (Israel, 1904-1991). This mid-century work depicts the old Jaffa clocktower built during the Ottoman period. Signed "N. Stencel" and also in Hebrew l.r. 23" by 29" in its frame. In excellent condition.

This is a very fine watercolor and gouache painting featuring a number horsemen outfitted in their best formal red riding coats, their accompanying hounds in the heat of the fox hunt. The artist was the very well listed watercolorist ALFRED VILLIERS FARNSWORTH (1858-1908). Farnsworth signed the painting at lower right and dated it there 1906, the year of the great San Francisco earthquake. The detail and sense of motion in the work demonstrates the mastery of Farnsworth...

Oil on canvas, 21" by 26" (26" by 31" as framed), the subject a winter landscape with coniferous trees in the background, a small unfrozen lake completing the scene. This is an impressionistic work by a nicely listed painter, the works of whom appear with frequency at auctions in Finland. I currently do not have a lot of biographical information on the artist, who was, judging from the label on the reverse (see photo), a member of the Society of Finnish Painters...

A very nicely done naive watercolor of a gentleman, housed in its original embossed brass frame. The painting has had no restoration and has no tears or losses. sight size is 2 1/4" by 1 3/4", and the framed size is 3 3/4" by 3 1/8".

Oil on canvas painting of a young blued-eyed blonde woman in circa 1940 hat and provocative gauzy top, 24" by 18" (31" by 24 1/2" framed), signed at lower center by listed French artist CESAR VILOT. There does not seem to be a biography of Vilot but his works of sprawled female nudes and ballerinas show him to be a talented painter of women. This work somewhat resembles the work of artist Jean Gabriel Domergue. Condition is excellent; frame shows some wear especially at left...

This is an OIL ON CANVAS, STILL LIFE with FLOWERS by JOANN V. GENT. Framed size is 19 3/4"; 15 1/2" X 19 1/2" sight. DAFFODILS, VASE, and FRUIT. There is a slight canvas puncture top central but invisible when looking at this Work.

A nicely done miniature portrait, on natural organic material, of an attractive young woman. The sitter is wearing a white dress, a black necklace and earrings, and an upswept hairdo. The painting is housed in its blue velvet travel case, with a glass cover.

Condition is excellent, with no problems. The sight size is 2" by 1 1/2", and the closed case size is 3" by 2 1/2".

This is a very well-painted miniature depicting a courtly scene of a nobleman and his companion on a pleasure boat, with three female attendants. Although Mughal in style, I am not 100% convinced that the painting is indeed of the period. For that reason, I am listing it as decorative only and have priced it accordingly...

Original untitled watercolor by Rika Schwimer (aka Schwimmer). An Israeli artist born in Poland, Rika Schwimer has been described as Israel's foremost watercolorist. Her work has been exhibited in her native Poland, as well as in France, Israel, and the United States. This painting retains its original gallery frame. It is signed twice l.r. 13" by 19" painting alone, 22" by 28" in frame. Excellent condition.
