Roudebush was born in Portland, Oregon and moved to Sacramento as a youth. Art education in the Bay Area followed, in the late 1920's, and by 1932 she was producing etchings, generally of familiar Bay Area scenes. She worked until at least the 1970's...

This is an original etching by Reginald Marsh (American 1898-1954)of Minsky's Chorus, the famous Burlesque venue in New York City. The original painting of this scene is in the permanent collection of the Whitney Museum. The original shows a reverse scene. The sheet size is 10 1/2" x 14 1/4", with the impressed image size of 8 7/8" x 11 3/4". The paper is heavy, textured, with a slight cream hue. As is visible in the photos, there are losses to the margins on the right and at the bottom...
