Printed by Richter & Co. of Napoli, the subject is a handsome young man, sword in hand, partially draped in the green, white and red of the Italian flag. The poster, "Prestito Nazionale", was created to drum up patriotic feeling to help fund, through bonds, the war activities in 1916...

Very RARE Engraving of Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor. Bust length portrait facing left, wearing armor and the badge of the Order of the Golden Fleece. The portrait sits within an oval frame bearing the Latin inscription 'IMP. CAES. CAROLVS V. AVG.' The frame has been set into an alcove featuring fluted Doric columns, an eagle, swags of fruit and allegorical female figures, such as those of Germany and Africa at the bottom of the plate. In the background are battle and pastoral scenes...

A PAIR of old engravings from the Passion of Christ series of 14, engraved originally in 1521 by Dutch old master engraver LUCAS VAN LEYDEN (1494-1533). My research leads me to believe these two are apparently later impressions printed on wove rather than laid paper, by noted Flemish engraver Jan Harmansz Muller (1571-1628). (Wove, as opposed to "laid" paper, was not invented until the mid 18th century). The talented Muller made skilled and faithful copies after earlier artists' works...

The focus of the print is a man playing a violin while a standing man with drink in hand addresses him, perhaps singing, as is a seated man.
