An example of the 1960's poster by the prestigious Galerie Berggruen in Paris, printed on the occasion of the exhibition of works by Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky. The work pictured is Klee's 1930 watercolor "Spectre d'un Guerrier". The poster, printed by Jacomet, Paris, measures 27 1/2" by 19 1/2", and is in a silvery metal frame at present. The gray and light washy blue and silver and black make an elegant modern statement. Condition appears excellent (not examined out of frame)...

In 1970 Japanese print maker Haku Maki (1921 – 2000) produced this large Wind image. It is 84c x 84 cm; 33 " x 33" . Provenance; Maki produced this print and this copy was sold to a Japanese buyer it stayed in Japan until it came to me last week in Beijing this is one of the few times I have been able to obtain a Maki print from Japan not through a dealer. When the previous owner decided to sell he did so through an auction in Japan; then it was fully restore in Tokyo and I acquired it...

For the collector of wildlife and sporting art, here is a large (19" by 33 1/2" inside the mat), offered UNFRAMED*** pencil signed print, by renowned wildlife artist DAVID SHEPHERD (1931-2017), the oils of whom have sold for over $100,000 at Sotheby's auctions. This print is not numbered as in a limited edition, though obviously the artist hand signed a limited number. The painting from which it was made is dated 1979 and is titled "Three Happy Jumbos"...

Maki’s Big Reds—an appellation which my late husband Daniel Tretiak gave to Maki’s large, red designs (usually kanji) on black backgrounds—are well-represented by this ox, a subject Maki did many times. An artist’s proof (A.P.), it measures 16in x 21.75in.

This is a work by highly regarded American artist THOMAS WILLOUGHBY NASON (1889-1971), titled in pencil "Rockport" at lower left and signed at lower right "TWNason (M.W.N.)". This would appear to be a posthumous signature by a relative after the artist's death. This example measures 4 1/4" by 6 1/4" inside the mat and 11 1/4" by 13 1/4" framed. The print appears to be in generally good condition with some scattered foxing, especially in the margin area...

An old etching of Notre Dame cathedral in central Paris, viewed from the south bank of the Seine river, titled at bottom "Pont de l'Archeveche Paris", artist name K. Gautier (LUCIEN GAUTIER, 1850-1925) at lower left margin. The print measures 9 3/4" by 14 3/4" (13" by 18" in silvery metal framing). There are some fox marks in the field and typical browning/light soiling seen on an antique print; also a slight bit of raising of the paper surface at extreme right corner...

From having checked the 1981 catalog raisonne by Daniel Marchesseau, I have determined that the most official title of this work is "Fillette aux Yeux Vertes" ("Young Girl with Green Eyes", although a number of other titles are in common usage for this essually popular print)...

Original lithograph by Ira Moskowitz (USA, born in Poland, 1912-2001). Pencil signed by the artist l.r. and titled "Hogan Interior (Navajo)" l.l. 12 1/2" by 16 1/8" image alone. Also signed and dated 1945 in the plate. From an edition of 30. In 1943 Moskowitz was the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship and moved to New Mexico where he lived and worked for 7 years. He became a member of the Taos-Santa Fe group of artists. This lithograph was produced during that period.

This is an original pencil signed etching by British artist Sir Frank Short.  The title is: A Lane in Arundel, it was created and printed in 1907.  The image measures 8 1/8X10 inches.  A rich impression.

An interesting color printed engraving of George Washington published in London in 1798 by Robert Cribb, Holborn, engraved by William Nutter after a painting by Gilbert Stuart purported to belong to J.S. DeFranca of Devonshire Place. Devonshire Place is a part of London, but a quick search did not turn up a J.S. A posthumously published (1993) etching "Men at Rigging", the plate apparently originally cut by famous and important California artist ARMIN HANSEN (1886-1957) circa 1924, even though the work is dated 1930 after the faint plate signature. According to the printed narrative on the backing, the plate was never printed in Hansen's lifetime. Unusually large detailed engraving, 31 1/4" by 20 1/8", laid down on board, of Christ coming down off the Cross, this example engraved by Nicolaus Dorigny (1657-1776), and possibly after Daniel Ricciarelli (1509-1566), in turn after a painting by Raphael. Haku Maki was an important Japanese modern print maker of the second half of the 20th Century. In the 1970s his work consisted of many abstract images of Chinese characters, kanji. Most are quickly recognizable by Chinese and Japanese. This one has befuddled and even annoyed some Asians who normally like Maki kanji. Manuel Robbe French This is a fine original color aquatint etching by French artist Manuel Robbe. The title of this work is: La Coquette. It was created and printed circa 1905. I first saw this print in a small pamphlet from White Lotus Gallery in Oregon, acquired the print in ways that Du Yuesheng would be proud of and it has rested here for over two years It is a small print but it packs a punch. It shows a prancing dancing woman. What do you think? The kanji in the center of the print is set off by a tear at the left and a sun at the right. It measures 5.75” x 8.5”.

This c.1925 etching by William Meyerowitz measures 7 7/8 x 9 7/8 inches, plate and pencil signed, framed. Meyerowitz studied at the National Academy of Design in NY and is best known for his development of producing etchings in color. His work is at the Metropolitan Museum of Art; Carnegie Institute; National Academy of Design; Harvard University and the Library of Congress.
