Hayes Miller was a familiar figure on the New York art circuit for decades. Although he was an accomplished painter and printmaker, he is perhaps best remembered today for the influence he wielded as a teacher...

A circa 1920's etching of the Woolworth Building in New York City, the print signed in the plate and then pencil signed at lower right margin by American artist F.W.W. HOPPE. The artist did leave behind a number of etchings of New York scenes, but there seems to be a lack of biographical information on him or her. The print is in brown ink on a thin paper. Measurements inside the present mat (no glass) are 9 1/2" by 5 1/4" (14 1/4" by 9 1/2" in thin strip frame)...

Clara Colline 1881-1945 Kansas Artist, American This is a fine block print by Kansas artist Clara Colline (1881-1945) The title written in pencil lower left is: Wind in the Cottonwoods. THis image done circa 1920 is hand signed in pencil and has an image size of: 9X11 3/4 inches. Colline was a student of Birger Sandzen. His influence is clearly seen here.

It was created and printed circa 1930. This pencil signed and titled etching measures 8X10 inches. This appears in the Burr catalog as image number 281.

Arthur Briscoe, British, 1893-1963, "Oyster Dreckers," etching, plate measures 6 1/2 x 10 inches on 8 1/2 x 11 1/4 inch laid paper. C. 1924. Catalog: Hurst 87. Edition of 75. The scene depicts some oyster dredgers on Buzzon (or Besom) Creek, near Briscoe's home in Colchester. The oyster industry there is now endangered, but Briscoe has captured it well. Signed in ink in the lower right, numbered "39" in the lower left. A fine impression with good use of plate toning...

Many we have feature Vaslav Najinsky who is considered the greatest dancer of classical ballet. The drawings are all original with watercolor and gouache and pencil notations and signed.
