Offered together as a matched pair (and see ANOTHER example of this artist's printmaking in my shop), these are etchings on paper, identically framed, each 11" by 8" inside the mat, 20" by 15" framed. Each print is signed at lower right in pencil by well known New Orleans artist EUGENE F. LOVING (1908-1971). Both prints are titled at lower left, one "Pirates Alley/Old New Orleans", the other "Maison Seignouret Court/Old New Orleans; and each bears the artist's notation "Ed/200"...

A circa 1920's to 1940's old reprint of the much-loved classic Currier and Ives lithograph "American Winter Scenes", with a horse-drawn sleigh heading towards the snug home at right in which a party appears to be held. The piece measures 23 1/2" by 30 1/2" in what I believe is a birdseye maple frame. Condition is very good, vintage condition. The original 19th century lithograph is very expensive; this reasonable alternative will provide the same decorative punch.

A unique piece that transcends art and entertainment.........a color poster advertising the November 13, 1989 sale of the famous Billy Wilder art collection at Christie's auction house in New York City. At lower right in blue marker, Wilder wrote "For Bianca---a true pearl/Billy Wilder Oct. 89". Wilder of course was the Austrian-born American filmmaker, screenwriter, producer, artist, and journalist whose career spanned more than five decades...

This print Z-446B was one of a small number of creations that he put on hard, gold-edged board. Daniel Tretiak wrote that these prints “were printed first on very thin paper, which was then ‘wrapped’ around heavy shikishi board. They are lithographs not done from wood blocks. Done in 1999, this work measures 7.25in x 8.25in, is in excellent condition, and one of an edition of 77.

J-10 is an exciting example not only of Haku Maki’s depiction of Chinese characters but also his use of a hard gold-edged board (instead of simple single or multiple sheets of paper).
