Woodcut color print "Jeremiah", 23" by 15 1/2" (33" by 25" framed), signed in pencil at extreme lower right corner and dated there 1957, by the well-known Jewish artist JAKOB STEINHARDT (1887-1968). The work is numbered in lower center margin 1/30. Steinhardt is a significant figure in the Jewish art scene of the 20th century. Born in present-day Poland, he attended art school in Berlin in 1906, studying with Lovis Corinth and Hermann Struck...

A decorative print, 27" by 23 1/2" in its white wood frame with blue inner fillet, after the painting "Blue Bouquet" by the important modern French artist BERNARD BUFFET (1928-1999). The painting was produced in 1957, so the print likely dates to the late 1950's or early 1960's. There are light scratches at lower right measuring about 4", and some small loss areas at upper left showing as white spots...

The print (8 1/2" by 9 3/4" inside the mat, 15" by 20" as framed) is a very detailed etching typical of the meticulous style of the artist, renowned for his prolific printmaking. Japanese limited edition copperplate etching titled “Lake Landscape” by Tanaka Ryohei (1933-2019). Pencil-signed, dated '99, and numbered 37/150 in the lower margin. The title in kanji and the number 630 is at the bottom left margin. Paper: 10 3/16" x 11 7/8" (image: 6 1/2" x 8"). Very good overall condition with only a tiny bend in the very edge of the upper left margin. Never framed.

For the Hawaiiana fans, here is a clean Hale Pua anthuriums print, 13 3/4" by 10 3/4" (24 1/2" by 20 1/2" framed). Close up magnification shows it to be some kind of later photo of an original airbrush painting, I believe (offset printing-type dots visible with a magnifier). The color seems to be just printed on rather than airbrushed, the signature, likewise. You need a magnifying glass to tell the difference...
