An example of the scarce "sur blanc" lithograph prints of famed French caricaturist and satirist artist HONORE DAUMIER (1808-1879), the 1851 print from the "Actualites" series, and Le Charivari. It is beautifully hand colored, with gum arabic highlights in the dark areas of the central figure's robe. Not examined out of the frame, it appears very clean and fresh (happy to examine out of frame upon request)...

A lithograph or photo-lithograph of a poster of 1953 for the Galerie des Ponchettes, Nice, exhibition "Le Livre Italien Contemporain". I am not clear if this was an exhibition of Chagall works, or an exhibit of Italian books and how they may have been illustrated at that time, perhaps by figures like Chagall. I have seen online that this print may actually date to 1966, printed by a James K. Foster after the original 1953 image...

An example of the 1934/35 lithograph "Ruf Des Todes", from the "Death Cycle" series of lithographs by famous German artist KATHE KOLLWITZ (1867-1945). The sheet which measures 19" by 16" was long ago laid down to a board. Evident past attempts to remove an over mat has resulted in skinning of the paper in the lower portion, and residue from the over mat remains at top. There is a line from the old mat all around, with the paper within that line lightly browned...

PAIR of etchings of dogs, one a Fox Terrier, the other a Scottish Terrier, each signed at lower right in pencil by the renowned twentieth century German dog and cat and other animal artist, KURT MEYER-EBERHARDT (1895-1977). The artist was born in Leipzig and died in Munich. In the late 1920's he was studying with Thedor Hagen and Lyonel Feininger, and could have ascended to the highest levels of the art world. He however chose to pursue his love of depicting domestic and other animals...

A fine etching, titled at lower left margin "The Intruder", signed in pencil at lower right margin by the noted English-born dog artist MARGUERITE KIRMSE (1885-1954). The black Scottish Terrier has discovered several fox terrier pups and is intently staring them down. Kirmse was born in Bournemouth, England, showing early talent in music and drawing animals. She stayed in the United States after what was to have been a brief vacation...

Large format Japanese limited edition woodblock print depicting a path through traditional buildings titled in kanji at the lower left "Kashiwabara" (station 60) from the series "Kisokaido" by Katsuyuki Nishijima (b. 1945). Pencil-signed and with the artist's red seal at the lower right margin. Numbered 1/500 at the lower right margin corner. "Kisokaido" is printed in kanji at the center of the bottom margin. The artist's red seal is beside the signature. Paper: 18 1/8" x 25" (image: 15 1/2” x 21 5/8"). Very good overall condition. The print is very lightly sunstruck. The bottom margin corners are a little wrinkled and the paper at the back upper edge is slightly distressed from tape removal.

Picasso photolithograph poster for an exhibition held in early 1956 at the Galerie Lucie Weill in Paris. The measurements are 24 1/2" by 16 3/4". There is a narrow inexpensive black frame, and no glass. On the reverse of the framing materials is written in pencil, "Picasso/Papiers colles dessin M.F./photolitho 67 x 46 cm./1000 copies". A definitive book on Picasso's posters confirms that this was a run of 1000 examples, printed by Mourlot, the image after a work completed by the artist in 1...
