A pair of identically framed, very clean steel engravings, one titled "The Waterfall", after an 18th century painting by the Florentine Old Master FRANCESCO ZUCCHERELLI (sometimes spelled Zuccarelli) 1702-1788, measuring 10 1/2" by 6 3/4" (17 1/2" by 15" framed) and the other, by the famous English 19the century artist JOSEPH MALLORD WILLIAM TURNER (1775-1851), titled "Crossing the Brook" (11" by 8 3/4"), and the same 17 1/2" by 15" framed as the Zuccherelli...

A woodblock print on hand-made paper, the subject a female nude, as originally published in 1921 in the French language literary and art magazine Les Cahiers d'Aujourd'hui. According to information affixed to the backing, this is "original work done on hand laid paper", which was "string-tied" into the hand-bound booklet. CARL HOFER (1878-1955) is today considered a German Expressionist; his finest paintings have exceeded $500,000 at auctions...

An unusual and difficult to photograph trio: two heavy copper etching plates and one tin or zinc lithograph plate, the latter signed clearly Emil Kosa Jr., and one of the copper plates signed with reverse-etched conjoined initials that spell out EK and probably also "Jr". All were acquired by me at the same time, so, I believe it likely that all three are by the hand of the noted California artist EMIL KOSA, JR. (1903-1968)...

A lithograph poster in black, white and grays, olive green and light blue, 30 1/2" by 22" (39" by 31" as framed), the imagery by French artist YVES BRAYER (1907-1990), titled "Les Baux de Provence", the poster published circa 1970's or 1980's by the Provence tourism office. Brayer studied in 1924 at the Academy in Montparnasse and later at the Paris École des Beaux-Arts, under Lucien Simon. He exhibited around this time in the Salon d'Automne and in the Salon des Indépendants...

Original etching on paper, pencil signed at lower right margin, titled on mat "Portuguese Fishermen", the subject the wharf at Provincetown, Massachusetts where the artist spent considerable time in the famous art colony. The work measures 3 3/4" by 5 1/4" inside the mat and 8" by 8 3/4" framed. This is by the noted American artist MORGAN DENNIS (1892-1960). Born in Boston, Dennis spent much of his life in Massachusetts, though he did live elsewhere including Key West, Florida...

Nicolas Mignard, French, 1606-1668, "Odysseus and the Sirens". Etching by Nicolas Mignard after the frescoes of Annibale Carracci depicting scenes from Homer's Odyssey. Plate size 10 1/4 x 17 3/4, published by Pierre Mariette in 1637, with lettering in Latin below the image. Printed on a very early watermarked laid type paper.

A late 19th century etching of a young woman, measuring 5 3/4" by 4" inside the mat, the laid paper sheet 10" by 7 1/4", and 19 1/4" by 15 1/2" nicely framed, with a monogram in the plate at right center and an illegible pencil signature at lower right that appears to begin with "J". As the work somewhat resembles some portrait etchings by the famous artist Whistler, and the monogram almost appears as an early Whistlerian "butterfly" before it evolved, I thought the work possibly by Whistler...

A color propaganda poster from the 1960's or 1970's Mao-Tse-Tung era, 19" by 29 1/2" inside the current matting, 28" by 41" in present simple black framing behind Plexi. The paper is of a less-finished type that may be akin to newsprint. Print has slight creases in places but overall is in good clean condition. There are very minor edge tears and skins in a few places where this was crudely taped in the past and small moisture stain as shown...

Original color intaglio by Gloria Garfinkel (USA, New York, born 1929). This work is signed lower right by the artist, titled "Ginza I" and numbered 13/20. Also dated 1993. Mary Ryan Gallery label verso. In its original gallery frame.

Audubon was assisted by his son John Woodhouse Audubon, and the printing was by J. T. Bowen of Philadelphia...

A rare etching of one of New York area's bridges, depicted in an interesting phase of its construction, pencil signed by American etcher artist RALPH PEARSON (1883-1958). The work measures 10 3/4" by 15 1/4" inside the mat and 17 1/2" by 21" as framed. The artist titled it at lower left "#69 Hell Gate Bridge" and inscribed it in pencil at lower margin "To Harold Swartz--Artist". (Harold Swartz appears to refer to the Los Angeles/New Mexico sculptor, born 1887, died 1948)...
