Palace royale Brussels ByPerry Menkarn Print 7 x 9“, frame size 13 x 14“

A small etching of one of the classic old buildings of America's oldest coastal cities, perhaps New Orleans or Charleston South Carolina, titled "Street Cart", numbered 91/150 and signed "Godzala" or similar. The etching measures 3 3/4" by 2 1/2" inside the mat and 10 1/4" by 8 1/4" in the silver metal frame. Condition is excellent. The piece likely dates to the 1990's through present. I do not see an obvious artist that would correspond with the name.

Eugene Higgins (American, Kansas City, Missouri 1874–1958 New York)A superb painterly impression, in dark brown ink, on buff wove paper os a lake scene with trees and a sail boat c 1910. Size 10.5" by 8.75" The print has an inscription at bottom with Higgins name , unsure if its his signature.

This note looks at newly emerged prints (in 2015, that is) including Poem 72-110, Poem 70-10, and a work simply called 81-11.

Anders Zorn 1860-1920 Sweden This is an original etching by well known Swedish artist Anders Zorn. The title is: Dal River, created and printed in 1919. This impression measures 7X4 5/8 inches, printed on a medium weight laid type sheet. hand signed in pencil lower right. This image appears in the Asplund catalog as image number 284. One of his series of nude bathers that he is well known for.

A fine color soft-ground etching and aquatint by the noted, prolific Czech master artist TAVIK FRANTISEK SIMON (1877-1942), featuring the famous and much-loved "bouquiniste" bookstalls along the Seine in Paris, Notre Dame in the mid background. The original sheet measures 15 7/8" by 20 1/8". The print is signed in pencil at lower right by the artist and bears number "329" in the lower left margin...

Nicolas Mignard, French, 1606-1668, "Odysseus and the Sirens". Etching by Nicolas Mignard after the frescoes of Annibale Carracci depicting scenes from Homer's Odyssey. Plate size 10 1/4 x 17 3/4, published by Pierre Mariette in 1637, with lettering in Latin below the image. Printed on a very early watermarked laid type paper.

A colorful print "Share Chanukah with the Children of Israel", pencil signed at lower right margin and numbered 46/150 at lower left, by the eastern Europe-born, Jewish-American artist CHAIM GROSS (1904-1991). The work measures 22" square (23 1/4" square in metal frame with detail-dulling non-glare style glass). Gross was well known for his "direct carving" sculpture in wood and stone, and began experimenting with printmaking as far back as 1929...

Joseph Addison (1 May 1672 – 17 June 1719) was an English essayist, poet, playwright and politician. He was the eldest son of The Reverend Lancelot Addison. His name is usually remembered alongside that of his long-standing friend Richard Steele, with whom he founded The Spectator magazine. His simple prose style marked the end of the mannerisms and conventional classical images of the 17th century. This work is part of a series all dated London 1748, measuring 15x9”

Etching on paper, 5 1/4" by 6 3/4" (10 1/4" by 14 3/8" as framed), the subject the old downtown of Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, England, including a church and medieval buildings, by the important American printmaker JOHN TAYLOR ARMS JR. Oversized Japanese woodblock print by Shufu Miyamoto (b. 1950) titled "Water Weeds at Hiroshima." The lower margin is pencil-titled in kanji and English, pencil-signed, and dated '84. It is numbered in pencil 5/150 at the lower left below the artist's red seal. Paper: 17 5/8" x 22 3/4" (image: 15 1/4" x 21 5/8"). Very good overall condition. There are some minor wrinkles in the paper at the margin edges and there is a small mark in the margin at the upper left corner.
