An original 19th century antique "small folio" Currier & Ives lithograph print with hand coloring, "A Home on the Mississippi", measuring 9 3/4" by 13 1/4" inside the present mat, 16" by 20 1/2" as framed. Condition is above average with no major damage as viewed; hand coloring is rich and not light-struck. There are minor flaws as typically seen in prints of this age such as slightly uneven paper tone. The 1871-dated print is of desirable southern subject matter...

Samuel Palmer 1805-1881 British This is an original etching by British artist Samuel Palmer. The title is "The Early Ploughman" It was created in 1861. The image measures 5 1/4X9 7/8 inches. THis is the 6th state of eight. Printed on a medium weight laid type paper. Partial watermark visible upper left. This image appears in the Palmer catalog as image number VII.

The famous large folio size Currier and Ives lithograph of 1864, "Winter in the Country" (sometimes referred to by its subtitle, "Getting Ice") is a very desirable image, and the original printing is very rare, highly coveted by collectors, and in 2002 with the late George Cohenour of Pennsylvania, Currier expert and publisher of a widely used price guide, that print is likely the most rare in the entire Currier and Ives production history...

The edition was 500 unsigned and unnumbered.

Old photo of a seaside Greek temple with Doric columns, 10" by 14" (17" by 20 1/2" in metal framing with mat). I am not a specialist in vintage photography, but this seems to have some age. There is some silvering at lower right. The print might have been created from an old negative with some damage as there are some white spots in the print that are not damage to the print itself----I imagine that this is disturbance on the original negative...

This is a rare collection of black and white mounted photos I acquired from an estate in Bel Air, California some years ago, all bearing on the reverse a green stamp "From the Estate of Norman Cousins", sizes ranging from 14" by 7 1/2" to 17" by 13". These are circa 1960's works by the noted American political journalist, author, professor, world peace advocate, and photographer, Norman Cousins (1915-1990)...
