A rare print by surrealist print maker Ozaku Seishi, professor emeritus from Tama Art University. He is best known for small edition etchings, usually up to 30 copies, limitless experimentation with printing techniques and surrealist, often graphic imagery resembling distorted reality ¬neither quite explicit nor quite horror, but rendering a fairly dark version of dreams.
This lithograph on Arches paper is from a 1994 portfolio titled “Constitutional Fantasy”, vol...

This is a fine early printing of the well known etching, Bibi Valentin by American artist James M Whistler. This etching created in 1859 is impression II/II before the plate was damaged. A circa 1940 lithograph, signed in the plate, and bearing pencil signature of the printer in margin under the mat, by the noted California Scene artist PHIL PARADISE (1905-1997). This seems to be a scarce work, as I see only two other examples after an online search. Those two were pencil signed by the artist and numbered out of an edition of 100. So we can assume that this was a limited edition...

A dramatic early black and white photo of the Empire State Building in Manhattan, photographer unknown, the structure featuring prominently at center of the image, surrounded by the lower buildings from which it emerges. The building was completed in 1931. Some information I saw online suggests the antenna was not placed until as late as 1952. The photo dates from somewhere in that period, and very likely to the early/mid 1930's...
Japanese limited edition woodblock print by Morihiro Sato (b. 1943) depicting white bellflowers. A student of Joichi Hoshi who was influenced by Hoshi's use of metallic pigments, the artist set the flowers and partial moon (or sun) against a metallic background. An antique original etching of a standing cow in profile, a village seen at left distance, by Dutch Old Master artist MARCUS DE BIE (sometimes DE BYE), with birth death dates of approximately 1639-1688. The print is heavily trimmed, apparently (3 3/4" by 5 1/4", unframed).
