Sometimes called the Mayor of Tyson Street, Edward "Eddie" Rosenfeld (1906-1983) was a Baltimore based artist, whose works are owned by the JMM, Baltimore Museum of Art, Phillips Collection and American University Gallery (both in Washington, DC). His artistic style has been classified as "expressionistic" and "alive with gutsy realism." Mr. Rosenfeld was called "The Mayor of Tyson Street" because he began the regentrification process in Mt. Vernon in 1945.

Watercolor on paper laid on board painting of roses and hollyhocks in an intimate garden enclosed by a wall or structure, 16 1/4" by 13" and 1 1/4" wide frame, unsigned, executed late 19th or early 20th century. The artist's mastery of watercolor is clear, but unfortunately he or she failed to sign the work, which resembles paintings by members of the Stannard family of watercolorists (Henry John Sylvester 1870-1951, Lilian 1877-1944, Theresa 1898-1947)...

Norwich, England Artist B. George BAYLISS, 1900-1987, was a landscape plein aire Artist working mainly in his native England. This work was done near the quant Village of Norwich in oil, and framed in a gold leaf frame. The painting measuring 20” x 24” and is signed and dated 1942

For the Judaica or Jewish art collector, a SET OF THREE original pastel on paper drawings, all signed in Hebrew and dated 1987 or 1989, all 13 1/4" by 9" (18 3/4" by 13 1/2" as framed), the subjects various ancient buildings in, I would imagine, Jerusalem or another historical city of Israel. I am unable to read Hebrew but a friend thought the signature was "M. Schnase" or something like that...
Oil on canvas laid on board painting of San Juan Capistrano mission in Orange County, California, 5" by 5", 7" by 12 1/4" in period pie crust frame. Written in pencil in old hand on the tattered framing paper is "San Capistrano Mission". Although unsigned, the handling, subject matter and color palette are unquestionably of the hand of the noted California prolific painter RICHARD DETREVILLE (1864-1929)...
Watercolor painting of a dramatic western American mountain, unframed, executed on a 12" by 17 1/2" sheet of watercolor paper, unsigned. The mountain resembles the pyramidal Going to the Sun Mountain in Montana's Glacier National Park, but I suppose this could be elsewhere in the great American west. Condition is excellent; the work needs only framing.
This is a very fine watercolor painting featuring the distinctive profile of the dominant mountain in Marin County, California, just north of San Francisco, Mount Tamalpais. The artist was the very well listed watercolorist ALFRED VILLIERS FARNSWORTH (1858-1908). Farnsworth signed the painting at lower right and dated it there 1901. A finely worked original pastel of a Native American girl dancing in an interior defined by an arch, the work signed at lower left by artist CARLOS FREY (1938-). The piece is in remarkable condition, bearing framing label from Nebraska stating that it was framed to museum standards. Frey has a website outlining his long career in the arts. He works in many media, including photography, and sells originals and various types of reproductions of his works...
A miniature portrait, done in watercolor and gouache on organic wafer, of a young man, well portrayed by the artist to capture his power and possible arrogance. The hazel-eyed sitter is shown in a casual pose, wearing a dark jacket and white ascot.
The condition is excellent, with no cracks, bowing, or paint loss. Presented in a cast bronze frame without glazing the sight size is 2 1/8" by 1 5/8", with an overall size of 4 1/2" by 3".
