Ideal addition to kitchen or pantry area, a well-painted little still life of green and yellow zucchini squash, and an onion, 7 1/2" by 11 1/4" inside the linen mat, 11" by 15" framed, signed on the back of the canvas "Duffy '95". The framer's label is from Chicago so our artist may have been from Illinois. This is a decorative work and the skill of the artist is obvious. There is light wear to the frame. I had to open up the backing to find the signature and date.

Fine 18th c Engraving the text is faint so we haven't been able to get information on it. matted 14" by 18" NOTE the last 3 images were heavily altered to attempt to make the text legible.

Fine early pencil drawing on wove paper, the subject a distant view of Windsor Castle and the Thames River (favorite subject of so many, many artists), signed at lower right "James M. Hart" and dated there 1855. This is a rather early work of JAMES MACDOUGAL HART (1828-1901) of later Hudson River School fame. Hart's major large scale landscape paintings have reached into six figures at auction, and sales in the tens of thousands are not unusual...

This is an unusually fresh vintage watercolor, 10 3/4" by 20 1/2" (18" by 28" as framed), dating to the late 19th or early 20th century, by the noted American artist DAVID JOHN GUE (1836-1917). The colors are bright and there is no foxing nor moisture damage. A circa 1960's painting of a clown playing a most curious blue violin, signed at lower right with what appears as "J. A. Evans" (or, Evers, or similar). The oil on canvas measures 20" by 16" (24" by 20" framed). There are few tiny flecks of missing paint, very minor, but generally the work is in good condition.

This remarkable and rare work, 25 3/4" by 34" (30 1/2" by 39" in contemporary blue framing behind glass), is titled at lower right "Marseille Le Vieux Port" and is signed there "W. Howard". At first glance one thinks this a print of a Raoul Dufy painting, perhaps an exhibition poster, but upon closer inspection it is seen to be in fact an original watercolor by an obviously highly talented artist. This is a fragment of a larger 18th century European religious painting. The painting is very well painted in oil on wood with a gesso layer and depicts the thorn crowned head of Christ.

CONDITION: The wood and the painting have been professionally conserved to protect from further deterioration.
