Pritchard was a marine, landscape and architectural painter living in Bristol and London, who exhibited at the Royal Academy, the British Institution, the Society of British Artists, Suffolk Street and elsewhere...

Oil on canvas laid on masonite, 10 3/4" by 14", unframed, signed at lower left with what appears to be the name "Jens Oyme". I have not found a listing for such a name, even when varying the letters a bit. So, this is offered as a nice decorative work showing a peaceful deep fjord probably on the west coast of Norway, a small structure at right. The reflection in the water is probably the most skillfully painted area...

Impressionist American landscape painting, late 20th century, 24" by 36", unframed, signed at lower right with what appears as "A. Ullman" or similar. The piece is by a competent artist who knew how to use color and work the paint. A Standard Brands 39 cent sticker for the canvas/stretcher remains affixed, giving some idea as to the age of the piece, perhaps 1960's or 1970's.

Vintage lithograph from 1970 published by Atelier Maeght for Derriere le Miroir, measuring 14 1/4" by 10 1/2" inside the green mat and 21" by 17 1/2" in silvery framing (will be shipped with no glass). Colors are vivid and rich. A very attractive addition to your Mid Century Modern environment.

A lovely hand colored scene, "City of Providence", engraved by listed American 19th century artist ASA COOLIDGE WARREN (1819-1904) after an apparent painting by artist R. Hinshelwood (see lower right margin for that name). Robert Hinshelwood (1812-1879) came from England circa 1835; he was an engraver, etcher and painter. The panoramic view is from a high point, and some tiny figures in the composition add human interest...

A chromo-lithograph by G. Dianz (?) and copyrighted by F. DeMauro 23 Duane St. New York.The picture is slightly curled on the lower edge but covered by the frame. Framed under glass, the frame measures 18" x 21-1/2".

A small watercolor and ink drawing of the famous old Brulatour courtyard, 520 Royal Street in the New Orleans Vieux Carre (French Quarter), signed at lower right and dated there '51 (and titled/signed/dated again on the reverse backing) by New Orleans artist E. ALVA EDWARDS. Internet research suggests but cannot confirm that this be a work by one EDWIN ALVA EDWARDS JR. (1914-1988) of the Baton Rouge area. The clean piece measures 9 1/2" by 7 1/2" as framed...

This is an original hand-colored, 19th century lithograph print by the iconic American ornithologist and naturalist artist JOHN J. AUDUBON (1785-1851), from the nineteenth century series in the small octavo size. Inside the present mat, dimensions are 9 1/4" by 6" inside the innermost mat (16 1/2" by 13" as framed). The title is "Cliff Swallow" and this is Plate number 47 in a long series of bird prints in the small octavo size...

An example of the etching "Signorum Veterum Icones", published 1668, after the artist's own drawings and those of other artists of the time who studied the classical statuary of the ancient world, with initials of the artist, JAN DE BISSCHOP (1628-1671) (also known as JOHANNES ESCOPIUS). The work measures 10" by 5" inside the mat and 15 1/2" by 9 3/4" in pleasant contemporary gold frame in excellent condition...

A hand-colored engraving after William Henry Bartlett (1809-1854), titled "Eastport and Passamaquoddy Bay", 1839, engraved by C. Cousen, printed by George Virtue of London, England. Tiny foreground figures relax on a bluff overlooking the panorama, framed by a feathery tree at right and close-in island. William Bartlett was a well-known artist at the time, his topographical scenes very sought after. They proved popular works for transfer to engravings which could be widely distributed...

An old watercolor painting of the famous Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, Germany, unsigned, circa 1940. The piece measures 9 1/4" by 7 1/2" inside the double mat and 14 1/4" by 11 1/2" as framed. The frame is modern and functional. Note the detail, including tiny figures and old cars and even double-decker buses. The gate, which dates to the 1730's, was severely damaged in World War II. I believe the artist may have created this during the war or just before it...

The Works of William Hogarth" as published by Baldwin, Cradock and Joy in 1822 with the original plates restored by James Heath, engraver to His Majesty. The Heath edition was the last to print directly from Hogarth's original engraved plates. All William Hogarth prints appearing after this date are copies of these original graphic works of art...

Watercolor painting of some age, 13" by 10 1/2" (22" by 18" framed), the subject simply a tree, but, that subject is handled very beautifully, and the work is signed at lower right by artist Paula Day (on whom I find no information). The interpretation of light and color belies the hand of a talented artist. Judging from the framing materials this dates no later than the mid 1960's and likely earlier. I recommend a new mat only; the frame can be retained.

A circa 1840 engraving of the famous column in the Place Vendome, central Paris, titled "Colonne de la Place Vendome", with "Rouargue freres del & sc" at lower left. The print measures 6 3/4" by 4 1/4" inside the mat and the work as framed measures 11 1/4" by 8 3/4"...

A color print of the Montana landscape, specifically the mountain seen from the Many Glacier region of Glacier National Park, titled at bottom margin "Indian Paintbrush" (the red flowers, commonly seen in the mid-summer wildflower bloom at the park), hand signed in felt pen at lower right and numbered there 272/600, by noted contemporary Western American artist MARK OGLE (1952-). A pencil signed color print, titled at bottom margin "Springtime in Charleston", by listed South Carolina artist VIRGINIA FOUCHE BOLTON (1929-2004). The work, 13 1/2" by 16 3/4" (18" by 24" in gold metal framing) is pencil signed by the artist at lower right and numbered there 1551/3000. Fouche's watercolors of southern genre and familiar South Carolina scenes are offered at auction in the South.
