BURTON (1946-), the work painted skillfully in gouache and measuring 9" by 13" (18 1/2" by 22 3/4" in whitish wood frame). Condition of painting and frame excellent. Burton was born in Lincolnshire and has painted widely throughout the United Kingdom, seeking out a wide range of landscape subject matter. Dated in cycle years to 1999 and signed in black ink Dawei with one red Dawei seal of the artist. Mounted for framing with a cream-colored silk border. Painting: 27” x 26 1/8” (including silk border: 35” x 34 1/2"). Very good overall condition. During mounting, a few barely noticeable and well executed repairs were made to small losses in the paper primarily at the edges...

A highly decorative late 20th century painting after the Dutch 17th through 19th century classic winter landscapes, 33" by 36 1/2" as framed, signed at lower right by artist W. Reynolds. The work is clean and in very nice condition overall. There is some slight crazing at left in the sky, just enough to increase the impression of this being an old painting, and the frame has some light wear that can be touched up...

A contemporary painting in Old Master style, the subject a Dutch street scene with no less than eight figures, a church in the center background. The unframed 24" by 20" oil on canvas is signed at lower right corner "W. Caufield" (or "Canfield"). Note the attention to detail in the cobblestones and stone buildings (which are snow-dusted). The style derives from classic Dutch Old Masters and 19th century painters such as Cornelis Springer, Adrianus Eversen, and others. Condition is excellent...

Watercolor on paper painting of a traditional Chinese junk near the shore of a reedy body of water, 15" by 11 1/2" (20 1/2" by 16 1/2" in simple blond wood look framing), signed at lower left in pencil with what appears to be the name "Tang". The transparent washes and deft handling make for a pleasing and calming image that is a fine alternative to a print. The work is affixed or pressed against the backing by the glass---there is not a proper mount.

Geoffrey Lamont Holder (August 1, 1930 – October 5, 2014) was a Trinidadian-American actor, dancer, musician, and artist. He was a principal dancer for the Metropolitan Opera Ballet before his film career began in 1957 with an appearance in Carib Gold. In 1973, he played the villainous Baron Samedi in the Bond film Live and Let Die. He also carried out advertising work as the pitchman for 7 Up

A contemporary drawing in gouache in the classic Indian manner, depicting mounted royalty on elephants, other mounted apparently royal figures (maharaja?) on a camel and horse, in an exotic landscape including a palace in the distance. The work is in the style commonly seen for at least 500 years in India and Persia. The artist has taken great care with the amazing details. Measures 13 1/2" by 10 3/4" framed. Possibly acquired originally in India (see reverse partial sticker).

The drawing is beautifully executed by a sure hand, in what appears to be oil crayon or similar medium. I don't see a listing for an artist by this name so will offer this on its decorative merits. Condition is excellent. This colorful, vigorous drawing will look great in a dining area or large kitchen.
