A Very Rare,Fine Winter Landscape Scroll Painting/Plum blooming 동하매화-(冬下梅花) by야조(冶祖) 어문(魚門), 황철 [黃鐵](1864-1930), Korea, hanging scroll. Painted in ink and light color on silk, with plum blooming in winter, description with poem and signature with two seals. It is in very good condition, it measures 114x31cm. ***황철[黃鐵]은 글씨와 그림에도 능했다...

The striking kanji means Rising. Maki produced this image in 1970 as a modest black on white print. This print is Poem 70- 48 (rising): The kanji,which is the print's core theme, is reiterated in the title. When this print first came out, it must have in a winner: 59/151 . This print has a golden yellow sun and a light blue tear or splash to give it verve. This is the Maki style. A year later in 1971 Maki produced a Big Red, the same character shown here was done as a Red kanji in striking image...

The Marble Sculpture measures 18" tall x 9" at the base. This appears to be a Sculpture by Constantin Brancusi.(1876-1957). This Sculpture was purchased from an Estate in Highland Park in Dallas, Texas. It was used as a decoration for a private pool at that particular Estate. This Abstract Sculpture is not signed. A contemporary (new/newish) oil on canvas painting of a late 19th century hybrid sail and steamship, (of the type common in the 1880's and 1890's), 24" by 36" (35" by 46 1/2" framed), unsigned. Beautifully hand painted by an obviously skilled artist. Condition is excellent. The attractive framing is very heavy and apparently of a dense wood. These sorts of paintings though not old and antique are appealing and being of more recent origin are usually found in good condition...

This etching with drypoint on copper by Frank Benson measures 4 x 5 inches, pencil signed, 1931, cat: Ordeman-312, edition of 300. Benson was a founding member of the Boston Guild of Artists and a long time teacher at the Museum School in Boston. In 1912, at the age of 50, Benson began his etchings and drypoints, mainly of wild fowl which he depicted with expressive lines and rich toning that exquisitely captured the life and energy of the wild birds...

A large oil on canvas painting of a traditional horse-drawn cart of the Philippines, painted in a striking modernist interpretation, signed at lower right by noted contemporary Filipino artist ROGER SAN MIGUEL (1940-). The works measures 24" by 36" and 31" by 43" in its original blue mid-century frame bearing label from the House of Frames, Angeles City, Philippines (about 80 miles northwest of Manila near the old Clark Air Base). Maurice Bouval was a French sculptor of the Art Nouveau period who was born in Toulouse, France in 1863. From 1880 to the first World War, he created a large number of bronze statues or objects including chandeliers, candelabras or table lamps...

Oil on canvas, 8" by 10" and 1" wide frame, the subject a classic plein air landscape of the low desert. It is signed "Geraldine" at lower right, and on reverse is the inscription "To Dad Happy Anniversary from Mom". The painter was talented but no doubt still an amateur. This is a pleasant decorative painting that is ready to hang on the wall.
