When I first saw this abstracted figure drawing I was half expecting to see the "Moore" signature, thinking this a dead ringer for the work of famous English modern artist Henry Moore (1898-1986). Measuring 8" by 6", 13 1/4" by 10 1/4" including the gray mat and silver metal frame, the piece is signed "Saibra" at lower right, or, possibly (less likely), "Sailera"...

Large limited-edition Japanese woodblock print by Joshua Rome (b. 1953) titled “Inawara” dated 12/20/1982. The bottom margin is titled, dated, numbered 28/100 and signed in pencil. The artist's red seal is beside the signature. Paper: 18 1/8" x 25" (image: 15 1/2” x 21 5/8"). Very good overall condition. The print is very lightly sunstruck. The bottom margin corners are a little wrinkled and the paper at the back upper edge is slightly distressed from tape removal.

An accomplished drawing in pastel, 16" by 31 1/2" (22" by 38" in present framing), signed on the reverse by local Los Angeles artist Julie Belnick (1957-), and dated there 1989. The strange, surrealistic, stark modernist scene is of two brooms leaning against several walls dividing an otherwise empty space. A silvery gray tone dominates, with some subtle yellow mixed in, resulting in an elegant and mysterious work. Belnick is a Southern California artist with an exhibition history...

An original gallery poster from Old Town Circle Gallery, San Diego, for a September/October 1981 exhibition of the works of the artist, YAACOV AGAM (1928-). Pencil signed, numbered limited edition print, 18" by 21 1/2" inside the mat, (25" by 28 3/4" as framed), titled "Pareja con Kiva" ("Couple with Kiva") by noted Arizona-based artist AMADO MAURILLO PENA. Pena is known for his Southwestern genre themes, dealing with the Native American and the land upon which he lives. See the web for much more information. This print is numbered at lower left 22/65, and is signed at lower right (a blindstamp appears there as well)...

The bottom margin is titled, dated, numbered 30/100 and signed in pencil. The artist's red seal is beside the signature. Paper: 9" x 24 5/8" (image: 6 11/16” x 21 5/8"). Very good overall condition. The print is very lightly sunstruck and there are tiny brown spots about the size of the tip of a pin scattered throughout the paper.

A modern, stylish abstract in violets and blue-green colors, nicely framed ("floating") with inner fillet and very complementary silvery outer frame, signed at lower right by artist MARC BENSIMON (1926-) and dated there 1982. The work measures 18" by 12" (28" by 22 1/2" framed). Surprisingly, considering the quality of the work, I am unable to locate information on the artist. Condition is excellent, just the slightest wear on the frame. Very decorative sleek work for the home.

Pencil on paper drawing, 6 1/4" by 15", unframed, signed at lower right and dated there 1991, by the noted contemporary sculptor, ceramicist, designer and painter PETER SHIRE (1947-). This complex modern drawing is imaginative, three dimensional, and whimsical, and could only have been created by a true artist. Shire was becoming known on the art scene with his now famous teapot sculptures in the early 1980's, attracting the attention of Memphis figure Ettore Sottsass...

A small late 20th century watercolor titled on reverse label "Brazeau River", signed lower right with initials "MH". The work measures 5" by 3 1/4" inside the mat and 9" by 7" as framed. The Brazeau River is 130 miles in length and runs in a generally easterly direction from the high Canadian Rockies of Alberta, through the foothills and towards the plains where it merges with the North Saskatchewan River...
