The unframed 24" by 20" oil on canvas is signed at lower right corner "W. Caufield" (or "Canfield"). Note the attention to detail in the cobblestones and stone buildings (which are snow-dusted). The style derives from classic Dutch Old Masters and 19th century painters such as Cornelis Springer, Adrianus Eversen, and others. Condition is excellent...

A contemporary watercolor painting of a sailboat, signed at lower right by artist "Seargeant". Measurements are 12" by 10" inside the mat and 19 1/2" by 17 1/2" as nicely framed. Very clean overall, just a very little few specks of soiling on the inside of the non-glare glass, at upper corner. The artist had a good understanding of the wet-on-wet technique, as he used it to advantage in the gray, threatening sky and in the water.

The title in kanji is at the bottom left margin. Paper: 11 5/8" x 10 1/4" (image: 6 3/8" x 8"). Very good overall condition with a possible faintly visible smudge in the upper left margin corner. There are a few distressed fibers on the back, but the print does not appear to have been previously framed.
