This print, signed at lower left in the stone with Kandinsky's "K" monogram, was published by Teriade, Paris, for publication in the French avant-garde magazine Verve. The edition, printed by Mourlot, consisted of approximately 2000 or 2500 impressions...

Antique Japanese woodblock print by the artist Hasui Kawase (1883-1957) entitled Chuzenji Lake, Utagahama. Depicting figures, most likely pilgrims, walking near a red torii gate at water's edge. The sun shines on boaters on the lake and tall trees give shade on the shore.
The artist, Hasui Kawase is considered one of the major landscape artists of Japan. He was born the son of a silk merchant and studied both Japanese and Western style painting...

Old American landscape with trees framing a lake, 8" by 10", 12" by 13 3/4" in the gold frame, signed at lower right with name "H. Wolosky". The oil on board work probably dates to the 1920's or 1930's. I do not see an obvious artist name that I could link to this piece. A Cooper Union (New York City) old circular label remains affixed to the back of the board. Condition is vintage good, no problems.

Pencil drawing on paper signed "M.C" at lower right, 5 5/8" by 4" (13" by 10 1/2" as framed), the subject a sketchy topless Bali female nude. This is a work of major Mexican artist MIGUEL COVARRUBIAS (1904-1957). The drawing is on what appears to be a notepad printed with telephone number etc. from a hotel or business in Denpasar, Bali, Indoneisa. There is a collector stamp at lower left which I believe can be researched in the Lugt book of collector stamps...

A vintage pastel drawing of wood and thatch traditional homes on stilts in a shallow estuary at sunset, 11 3/4" by 17 3/4" (18 1/2" by 24" framed), signed at lower left "Lohmann" and dated there 1939. On the reverse is an old framer's label from Manila, the Philippines, and written in handwriting on the backing is "Zamboanga, P.I.". I believe Zamboanga is in Mindanao Island in the southern part of the country...

The drawing mixes sporting art with illustration art; the lead duck nearest the viewer glances almost mischievously, from the corner of his eye, at the viewer. Measurements are 13 1/4" by 9 1/4" (drawing inside the drawn lines) and 20" by 16 1/2" as framed...

A fine print from New Orleans by the noted Louisiana-associated artist LOUIS OSCAR GRIFFITH (1875-1956), featuring a milk cart drawn by a horse, making its deliveries in the French Quarter.
