Maya uses carved flowers and leaves lightly dusted with gilt to enhance the rich olive color of the purse. Add to that bronzed metal beads, crystals and rhinestones and you have an elegant purse, good for day or evening wear. Purse is 7" wide, 3 1/2" high and 1 1/2" deep. Chain is 44" end to end.

This fine box is made of ivory by the renown, Cape Cod scrimshaw artist, Gerry Dupont. He usually works with the whale tooth; but, sometimes displays his art on / with other pieces. This small box measures 2" x 1 1/2" and is just under 1" deep. The slightly convex top displays Dupont's fine and brilliant, clipper ship art. An unusual mixed metals bolo with an industrial nude torso design in silver and patinated brass on a leather thong by noted jeweler, Thomas Mann. He is known for his mini sculptures made from found materials in whimsical designs. Hallmarked with the impressed stylized TM with sun, Handwrought and etched with the Mann signature and '91.

Large cotton furoshiki with poem with shibori which is the first half of the famous poem from Manyoshu (The Anthology of Myriad Leaves). The original meaning is "It seems spring has gone and summer has come as white clothings are hung to dry in the Mt. Amano-Kaguyama". In excellent condition but it has some indigo color faded part. Gorgeous very big 1980s Yves Saint Laurent modernist clip earrings, designed by Robert Goossens, who has designed jewelry for decades YSL, Chanel, and other couture houses. A wonderful pair of Yves Saint Laurent long drop earrings. They are made of black galalith with patinated brass studs. The slightly indented bow and leaves are decorated with gilt paint. The earrings are 4 1/4" (11.1cm) long and are 7/8" (2.8cm) at the widest point. They have tight clip-earring backs and are incised YSL on the back of the larger oval. The brass could be polished if you choose, but we like the slight sign of age...

Maya frequently presents an oriental theme in her purses.This one is even more special than most. Under the resin surface is (quoted from Maya) "Special 'Geisha' painting by renowned painter: Art Zamora for Maya as signed."
