A scarce 10" restaurantware porcelain dinner plate from the dining car service of the Canadian Pacific Railway (CP or CPR). This vintage plate was made by Sovereign Potters of Canada, and it has the CP logo on the top and what may be a smudged decoration on the opposite edge. Fabulous papier-mache Easter candy container in the form of a duck. This fellow has real feathers on his wings, one of which opens on a spring hinge to get at the candy. The bill is wooden and the eyes are glass. It's got everything but the quack! Unmarked, but undoubtedly German. There is a slight amount of the damage to the webbing on the feet and the feathers are a bit ruffled, but otherwise he's in very nice condition. 8.25" tall; 7.5" beak to tail. Circa 1930's

An Edwardian gold filled wrist purse on a chain c1910-20. This 2-1/2 x 1-7/8" purse is undecorated, it has a snap-catch and a 7-1/2" link chain; it has a WH & Co. in a heart maker's mark and it is in excellent original condition with no bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than two shallow dents on one side and the later insertion of some purple velvet on the inside...

The framed and matted merit award measures 8 inches wide x 10 inches long and is adorned with a delicate, hand-colored, floral wreath...

A small (5 3/4" by 4 3/4" framed) printed poem titled "Mother Dear", with a sentimental message of the period, circa early 1930's. The gold paint and faint color at bottom appear to be hand-applied. On reverse is written in pencil "Billy/May 13 1934", and an old period framer's label from downtown Los Angeles adds further charm. A sweet item.
