The book is in excellent condition with the exception of a small tear on the side of one page (see photo) and an inscription in pencil on the front free paper (where there is light foxing). The top pages are uncut. Blue boards with a gilt lettering and bands.

Brown boards with embossed design on the front, spine and back. The spine has gilt lettering. Issues: the cover is a bit worn with fraying/wear at the corners and bottom; the back cover is loose from the book ( see photos). Illustrated however no artist is mentioned.

An antique book published in 1898 by Velhagen & Klasing, Verlag. The tan linen boards feature embossed black and gold gilding. There is a tiny tear on the title page and the end papers are missing. Possibly an eighth edition, the text is in German.

A rare first edition of Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens) book "A Tramp Abroad", as found in apparently scarce original leather covers rather than the more commonly seen cloth. The book has the ad after page 631 and "Moses" rather than "Titian's Moses" in the frontispiece, indicating an early state. I am not a book specialist so am pointing out characteristics that I see suggest rarity and early state...

Front and Back book covers are made of Paper-Mache boards covered with elaborately carved black plaster. 31 pages plus the title page are multi-colored chromolithographed, illuminated with each page having a different design...

Not complete. A very rare document on Chinese porcelain in French, published by A. Morel in 1881, first edition. Reference book with 227 pages and 30 heliogravures and chromolithographs and more than 120 illustrations in the text. Large quarto pages loose in portfolio, pages uncut. Condition: not complete, the Nos. XXXI and XXXII of the heliogravures and chromolithographs are missing, so are the text pages 113 to 120. Some foxing on pages. Dimension: c. 38 cm x 29 cm.
