A charming completely hand-drawn map of the South American continent, likely created by a school child at a time when geography was taught to youngsters, measuring 8 1/2" by 6 1/2" (19" by 15 1/2" in black strip modern framing). The age looks to be 19th century. The creator used a red-brown ink, and pencil underlying in some places. Note the cartouche at lower right, and the quaint term "Amazonia" and "Brasil" spelling. A landscape albumen photograph of Darjeeling India. Titled in script in the negative, “534. Darjeeling. General view with the Snows(?) from Woodland’s Hotel.” Presumably, “the Snows” are the snow-covered peaks of the Himalayas that show more as a line of clouds, but are visible in the distance. The details of the image are sharp at the center, but blur slightly at the edges.

The photograph shows a group of men and women including a woman seated by a grinding stone posing for the photograph. An albumen photograph of campers on the shore of Loch Hourn with their boat anchored off-shore and misty hills on the far side of the Loch. Loch Hourn is a sea loch. The campsite looks a little messy, though the tent looks good and the four men well dressed and fed. 7 ¼ x 11 3/8 inches (18.5 x 29 cm), with a 14 x 17 inch (35.7 x 43.3 cm) mat. Attached to backboard with T mount at the top and clear photo corners at the bottom.
