A 7 x 3-1/2" curved card stereoview or stereo card depicting an Alaska Goldrush scene. Issued by B.L. Singley in 1900, this is number 9256 - "A HALT BY THE WAYSIDE, EN ROUTE TO KLONDIKE". It has an orange face and pink backing, with a quote by John P. Clum, USPO Inspector and Lecturer. Rare and early vintage albumen print of the Shimbashi Railway Station in Tokyo, with festive decoration and banners wearing the imperial seal "kiku-mon". The Tokyo to Yokohama rail line opened on 14th October 1872, with a great ceremony as the emperor took the first official ride, arriving at Shimbashi Station in a Western carriage. Mounted on coeval cardboard. Condition: fine, minimally faded, a tiny hole. Dimension: photo: 20.1 cm x 25.9 cm, cardboard: 34.8 cm x 43.8 cm.

A vintage gelatin silver print of Oulah-Nails street in Biskra Algeria located on the back and the photographer Alexandre Bougault (1851-1917) identified with his blind stamp in the lower right corner. 10 7/8 x 8 5/8 inches (27.5 x 22 cm).

Condition; good except for bruised corners.

An authentic document signed by Gov. Alfred E Smith (NY) attesting to the fact that as requested by the Governor of Massachusetts he "surrendered" Fred W. Simmons, a fugitive from justice Dated August 17, 1927 . Smith's signature is in the lower right corner - it is also signed by counsel. The paper is folded and curled at the bottom edge; there are also two small puncture marks in the upper right corner.

An albumen photograph of the mountains Scuir-Uran and Scuir-an-Carnich rising behind what appears to be a stream that according to the caption in the negative feeds into Loch Duich in Ross-Shire. Loch Duich is a sea loch on the west coast of Scotland. The title includes the number 799 and the initials G.W.W. for George Washington Wilson (Scottish, 1823-1893). The photograph is 7 3/8 x 11 ½ inches (17.8 x 29.2 cm), the mat 14 x 17 inches (35.6 x 43.2 cm)...

Albumen photograph mounted on a card and titled in ink in script under it, “Bheel women grinding Bajri.” The Bhil are a large group of people from west India including Gujarat where pearl millet is called bijri. The photograph shows a group of men and women including a woman seated by a grinding stone posing for the photograph. The image is 7 5/8 x 9 3/8 inches (19.3 x 24 cm) and the card 11 x 14 inches (28 x 35,5 cm).

Condition: the image is in very good condition...
