A black and white 1950's photo of the famous Argentine, Juan Peron (1895-1974), inscribed in ink at bottom "al senor Herbert He. Jillson, con gran afecto/Buenos Aires, 18 febrero 1955/Juan Peron". The piece measures 14" by 9" inside the mat and 18 1/2" by 13 1/2" framed (no glass, as found). This is a fascinating piece of history. Peron of course was a world-famous figure at mid century...

Attention wine lovers: this Victorian etched crystal decanter is classic. It is etched with a lovely classic star and key pattern, while the tall neck has 3 rows of cut hollows; on a molded foot ring with a large cut stopper; unmarked but probably old Baccarat. Quart size. Condition: excellent; one edge of the faceted stopper has a small chip. Measurement: 12" high (with stopper) x 6 " diam.

Stated first edition published in 1961 by Chilton Books, Philadelphia. The jacket has small tears and wear and a name is inscribed on the front free paper otherwise the book is fine. Illustrated.228pp.

A typed letter on official stationery of the Office of the Vice President, Washington, dated August 11, 1956, signed in brown ink "Dick", by Richard Nixon. The sheet, 9" by 7", is currently unframed. Text is "Dear Randall"/This is just a note to tell you how deeply I appreciated your expression of confidence and loyalty as conveyed in the wire I received from Sacramento last Saturday./As you can imagine, I have received a considerable volume of wires and letters during the past two weeks...

Albumen photograph mounted on a card and titled in ink in script under it, “Bheel women grinding Bajri.” The Bhil are a large group of people from west India including Gujarat where pearl millet is called bijri. The photograph shows a group of men and women including a woman seated by a grinding stone posing for the photograph. The image is 7 5/8 x 9 3/8 inches (19.3 x 24 cm) and the card 11 x 14 inches (28 x 35,5 cm).

Condition: the image is in very good condition...
