Green and yellow duck figural on a clear decanter in the form of a rock formation (or iceberg?. Seguso made these decanters for Luxardo in the 1960's. Height of the duck/decanter is 12 inches (30cm). Overlay glass bowl or dish, the center light blue and opalescent, the edges more green than blue. Part of the edge softly folds over, creating the irregular and organic shape typical of the fifties. Unmarked. While Scandinavian art glass at the time normally was signed, this unmarked bowl probably emanates from one of the Murano glassworks. Height "1 1/3 / 3.5 and width "4 / 10.5 cm. Condition: fine.

Attractive sommerso stylized water bird is documented in Leslie Pinas' book ARCHIMEDE SEGUSO, page 126-7, valued there at $1000-1200. This is a fine sculptural interpretation of the natural environment of the Venetian Lagoon, which has provided inspiration to centuries of Murano glassblowers. This classic Mandruzatto block vase, done in the Sommerso technique with layers of ruby in crystal glass, has 8 cut and polished facets. While a labor intensive technique, this style reveals the elegant beauty of the glass, and produces wonderful optics. Made in 1970s or 80s. It stands 6 1/2" h by 3" diameter. The piece is in excellent condition. It has "Made in Murano Italy" label.

Venini 'a canne' bowl in alternating stripes of red, and clear glass, with applied clear glass foot. Foot has polished pontil and is stamped Venini murano ITALIA. In Venice Italy, these Obelisks were recently included in Fondazione Cini's exhibition "Paolo Venini and His Furnace," and are documented in the exhibition catalogue, page 308, model 4300. Constructed of thick canes twisted into a zanfrico design, this is a fine example of utilizing the traditional Venetian technique of zanfrico in a modern expression. The Obelisk has the 2 acid stamps: venini murano, made in Italy, measures 8" tall, and is in good condition.

This large aquatic-themed vase by Alfredo Barbini is superbly executed. The sculpted fish have animated expressions as they float through the freely drawn seaweed. Very large sculpture of a seagull in flight skimming over a wave on the ocean.

The Seagull is done in clear glass, with a hazy, white, layered internal decoration. The wave is a smoky clear glass. The two pieces are epoxied together, as is the case when two pieces had to be made separately, and annealed first, due to the design not being able to be joined when hot.

The piece measures 20 inches (51 cm) tall by 20 inches (51 cm) wide and is 8 inches (20 cm) deep.

Illustrating the virtuosity of both the dancer and the Murano Maestros' skill, this series is documented in Marc Heiremans' "Seguso Vetri D'Arte", P. 93, model #5350, 1939. Measuring 8"h x4"w and is in excellent condition.
