Rare woman’s skirt (pukhang) from the Kachin/Jingpo ethnic group, Northeast Burma. This is two panels with supplementary weft trim on the ends made of dog hair. Mostly natural dye and indigo. It is quite a durable weave with denim like feel. There is some staining, one small hole as well as a bit of dye bleeding. I could only find examples this in “Textiles of the Hill Tribes of Burma”: Michael C. Howard (plate 107) and the Metropolitan Museum of Art: Accession Number: 2002.312...

Fire lighting implement consisting of a piece of iron, pieces of fabric and a fragment of flint stone, the whole set being contained in a rattan box. This implement belonged formerly to a member of a tribe located in Palawan Island, South West of the Philipino Archipelago. Such tribe, like a few others in this island, has in some aspects remained in the Stone Age. It was put under the protection of the Philipino Government some 40 years ago. Balinese Mask of a fanged man/demon used in the art form of the Topeng dance drama, which came about in the 15th century in Bali and Java. The Balinese version of Topeng would include many different character masks, some speaking and some non-speaking. The mask has real hair mounted on strips of leatherr lacquered face and eyes, with a lot of detailed carvings such as his teeth and wrinkles. circa 1920s

A nice impressive size at 20.25” long, this all silver Thai tray features a wide raised edge with hand chased scrollwork and mythical birds. The scalloped rim has a beaded edge and this tray also has four small ball feet on the bottom. It is 85% silver and weighs 680 grams. Not too heavy in weight, it can be hung and displayed on your wall. A wonderful collector’s piece., it measures 20.25" long x wide 13.75". Stands 2" high

Measuring 10" x 15 1/4", this textile was made by Hmong women living
in Laos. Machine embroidery, reverse applique combined with some tightlyworked hand embroidery for accents. The spirals symbolize longevity. Condition is excellent and its estimated age is mid to late 20th century. The cushion is backed with a supple dark magenta pig suede and features an invisible side zipper for ease of dry cleaning. The pillow insert is 100% polyester fiber.

Hand carved wood angel with glass eyes from a rural Catholic church in the Philippines. Comes with a wood gold colored horn which rests on its hand. Measures 34" high; Wings total 16" across. Circa 1940-50s. Condition very good, some age cracks.
