Wonderful quality eccentric work combining Zen painting approach with Otsu-e (folk art paintings from Otsu produced from the 17th century onwards), beautifully captured mood of the scene. A Hazara prayer cloth from Wardak or Bamiyan province, Afghanistan, circa early 20th century. Satin stitch in multicolored silk thread on fine white linen. Squares and triangles are embroidered in complex symmetrical arrangements to form a very balanced, unified composition. Measures 32 x 32 cm. Condition: Very good, a small mend on the perimeter.

Pair of Cranes Painting and Poem by Korean Buddhist Monk Su An Sunim (born 1940). The crane is a an ancient symbol of longevity and immortality. This chawan was fired in the kilns of one of Kyoto’s best known raku-yaki potters, Sasaki Shoraku III (1944-). The Shoraku line began when the grandfather of the current potter established a kiln near the famous Kiyomizu temple, nestled at the foot of the eastern mountains in Kyoto. In 1945, the kiln was moved to Kameoka near the Yada shrine where it remains today.

1930's Chinese Silver White Jade Carved Pendant with Red Coral & Turquoise Bead & Bell Shaped Charms Necklace
It is 23.6 inches (60 cm) in circumference. The white jade is 1.85 inches (4.7 cm) long by 1.4 inches (3.6 cm) wide and 10.46 mm thick. The coral beads are 6.77 mm to 7.99 mm wide. the turquoise beads are 8.49 mm to 9.29 mm wide. The total weight is 55.1 gram.
