This is a pumpkin-shaped teapot made of Yixing clay with a very smooth texture. The lid has a finial simulating a stalk, while the handle and the spout are meticulously modelled in the form of a stem. On the body near the handle side there is a moulding of tendrils, in relief form, of leave and flower. On the underside of the base is the potter's signature, "Chen Mingyuan" is inscribed. Also, on the inner side of the cover, there is another seal mark bearing his name, “Mingyuan”...

A fantastic maki-e vase by greatest Heian Zohiko Nishimura Hikobei VIII in great condition. It was made around 1950. An alloyed copper inner tray is also included.
Hikobei VIII(1886~1965) delved heavily into laquerware technology, creating a vast array of well-known works from the end of the Meiji period through the early Showa period.

Large Japanese Gigaku demon mask, covered with silver, gold, and bronze lacquer. The colors gold is associated with the underworld, especially when apparent in a demon's eyes. This mask sports long fangs, a stubby ridged nose, and furrowed brow. The inside of the mask has rice paper with kanji signature of the sculpting artist. Tiasho age c1920.

Japanese framed woodblock print by artist Hasui Kawase (1883-1957), depicting a lake with boats and rainfall. In the foreground is a romantic scene in which a man sits with his face in his hands, a red bouquet of flowers beside him, watching a woman holding a blue parasol who stands gazing back.
