A Chinese export famille rose wall vase, featuring a poem and a Mandarin lady with her children. The inside and the back is glazed in turquoise blue. The rims are dressed in gilt. On the recessed base, there is a six character Qianlong mark in iron red.

Size: Approximately 8-1/8" high by 4-3/8" wide by 2-5/8" depth

Age: Late Qing Dynasty

Condition: Very good condition. Some gilt and enamel wear.

A Chinese puddingstone snuffbottle, possibly for the Tibetan market. The mottled red to white stone with all-over striations with a silver stopper with coral cap.

Red puddingstone is supposed to be the rarest colour.

Beautiful vintage Japanese sodenashi (work vest) made with indigo sakiori (rag weave) cotton, woven with multicolor areas to create a lovely patchwork effect, edged in solid indigo cotton, reinforced along the back, sides, and back of the neck in sashiko stitching. These vests were traditionally worn by workers in mountainous regions.

Here is the only Onta Chawan of our collection: a rare and beautiful chawan of Onta ware, made in 1958 (the manufacting year is written on the originally signed wooden box).

The production dates back to the early 18th century. Onta ware is closely associated with Mingei folk art. The earth for the pottery is found in Onta in the mountains. It normally comes in the form of rocks and needs to be ground to a pulver...

Chinese yixing teapot modelled as a gourd. The sides with leaves branching to both the spout and the handle. The lid with a branch with an extending pod. Base has a depressed character mark.

A Chinese opaque pink glass snuff bottle with red stone stopper. Of circular form, one side decorated in shallow relief with a design of a bird perched on a rock beside waves whilst on the other side is a scene of the sun setting beside waves below a branch of peaches and a single bat. Unmarked.

A Chinese porcelain Famille Verte brush pot with motif of birds perching on trees surrounded by flowers done in Kangxi style. Unsigned.

An antique green glazed porcelain bottle vase with the glaze stopping just below the top rim revealing an all over ge-type crackle with dark grey (iron wire) and gold (golden thread) crackle. The base rim unglazed with the base revealing the same ge-type crackle. Unmarked.

Japanese 4-panel byobu folding screen, with a shochikubai or "Three Friends of Winter" motif (plum, pine, and bamboo), the image of a pheasant seated upon a jagged rock formation, with a small singing bird on the twisting trunk of the plum tree. The image was taken directly from a commemorative stamp which is affixed to the corner of the frame.

Wood fired Mino-ware with a deep and expressive iron glaze, this tea bowl is a delight to hold in the hand.

A native of Aichi Prefecture, the potter Kajiura Soshyu was born in 1916 and studied under Hayashi Sekko and Kimura Giichi. A multitalented artist, he is also rumored to have worked in painting and calligraphy...

Very old shaman phurbu, the upper part shows three faces of protective ancestors surmounted by a monkey (7 cm high), the triangular blade is decorated on each side with snake interlaces topped by a Makara beak roughly carved, the sun is carved on the back side, the central part is a dorge (Tibetan ritual object symbolizing lightning and the power of the cosmos), important age at least early 20 th, hard wood, very old and beautiful black encrusted patina H 26.5 cm, presented on a iron stand
