Rare find of refined vintage modern *kokeshi simplified wooden doll titled as 'Hajirai' (lit. 'Shyness') made by a kokeshi artist, Kenichi Murakami (1929-1991), c.1970-80s, approx. H 38cm (14.96), categorized into ‘Sosaku kokeshi’ (or 'Shingata kokeshi', lit. ‘Creative kokeshi doll’) based on the traditional form and style but with more feminine elegance and quite next level perspective. A nice and interesting polished Nephrite amulet in the shape of a Cicada, Ming style.
The pendant carved in a rarely seen brown-black stone. This fine nephrite pendant comes from an old German Collection of handpicked Chinese jade carvings of insects from different periods, from the Neolithic to 20th. century. The cicada was carved in a Ming Dynasty Style, but possible from Qing Dynasty, we're not certain.
