An unusual three piece late 19th century silverplated carving set by Simpson, Hall and Miller. This set has silverplated handles in the form of deer antlers rather than real antlers; it consists of the 16-1/4" carving knife (blade marked SIMPSON, HALL, MILLER & CO. SHEAR STEEL. WALLINGFORD, CT.), the 14-3/8" smooth sided sharpening steel, and the 12-5/8" carving fork. Large and beautiful 10 1/4" rosewood and sterling serving fork by William Spratling, Mexico, c.1950's. The 2-prong fork measures 2 1/2" long by 1 5/8" wide. This handwrought silver box was designed by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling in the 1950's. The box measures 3 1/2" X 2 5/8" and is 1" high & weighs 178 grams. The lid is inlaid with panels of rich brown & yellow shell held in place by sterling silver rivets. The box is in beautiful condition & fully hallmarked. High-looping handle wrapped with abstract leaves; scroll terminal inset with Jensen-inspired seed-spilling pod on wire stem. The influence of the master applied to a traditional form. George V covered urn. Made by Lionel Alfred Crichton in London in 1930. Girdled urn on stepped, raised, and gadrooned foot; s-scroll side handles with leaf cap and pendant flower heads. Cover domed with gadrooned rim and finial. Cutout strapwork applied to bowl and cover. Traditional Classical form in Britannia (that is, 958) silver. Fully marked. Very good condition.

A sterling silver vermouth dispenser in the form of a watering can. These were made by Boardman and retailed primarily at Cartier's flagship store in New York and by Tiffany. This particular example was retailed by Schroth's jewelers in Montville, NJ. When tipped, the dispenser lightly sprinkles just a drip of vermouth into the glass for the perfect martini. The bottom is marked “Sterling” and is signed “Schroth”.
