This really pretty crystal elegant glass Prelude 6 inch high X 5 1/4 inch diameter Swan bowl was made by New Martinsville Glass from 1936 to 1939. The Swan has a Sterling base. The base is signed Sterling - see picture. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or scratches. The sterling base does need cleaned, but it is in very good condition. This is a large vase, and rather heavy, 21 1/2" long, 11" across, signed with a "P" in the chalky base. I've examined it closely and find no chips on rim or anywhere else. The piece is entirely hand thrown and decorated/painted, and quite Arts and Craftsy in feeling. I am a paintings specialist so this is somewhat out of my league. I did send images to Rago Auction in New Jersey and they were unable to identify the maker. It was found here in Southern California...

Very Unusual Murano Cased Blue Spider Net and AVENTURINE FLECKS Bowl or Centerpiece!!! Believe it is a BAROVIER and TOSO piece, similar to the Pezzi Unici di Prova pieces, which is a series of experimental designs created by Ercole Barovier!!! This is a large piece, measuring 9 1/2" long! It has a little flea bite at the point where the bowl is folded downward, only mentioned for accuracy, and does not detract from the piece at all...
