Lovely vintage Saint Lawrence seal (not seal but type of deep woods animal) fur cape with fold-over collar that extends to create slit pockets, held together with one fur hook and a beautiful detailed silhouette featuring fully lined pink doupioni silk, monogrammed, Wilhelm's Albany label, circa 1930. Early vintage rosewood & sterling silver dish or ashtray designed & signed c. 1930's by American & Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling (1900-67). The piece measures 3 1/4" across and 1 1/2" high. The hand carved octangular wood holder is inset with a hand hammered 980 sterling silver liner. Signed twice - WS TAXCO 980 on the silver, also WS TAXCO branded into the underside of the wood. Spratling always branded his wood furniture and objects. Beautiful condition...

The plate measures 6 1/4 inches in diameter and the saucer is 4 1/4 inches in diameter and 1 inch deep. The cup is 2 inches high with a diameter of 2 1/2 inches. Each compote is centered with a floral bouquet surrounded by entwined gilt and floral garlands. The decorative motifs are echoed on the pedestals. The bottoms are marked by Schumann.
