Very fine sterling silver trumpet vase with a ruby glass liner. The vase's body is intricately pierced in an acanthus leaf motif to show the rich red liner. The undulating flared rim lends a slight Art Nouveau feeling to the overall look. The base is marked for the Watson Co.

DESCRIPTION: A very good woven oak-splint basket in lobed buttocks form, used as a field gathering basket or a market basket for goods. This large early 1900’s Pennsylvania basket has a sturdy bentwood handle with double bentwood-wrapped rims; old varnish finish. Very good condition with minor usage wear. For size reference, the last photo in this listing shows this basket displayed on top of our Country Corner Cabinet (#A-CBL2). DIMENSIONS: 20” wide x 17" high.

Offered is this beautiful, hand-painted covered glass bowl, made probably by Mont Joye. It is 7 inches (17,5 cm) tall and 4 1/4 inches (10,5 cm) wide. It is in very good condition (there is a tiny flea-bite on the inner rim).

19th/20th Century cylindrical bone scroll holder inscribed and stained with insects, moths, and frog, surmounted by a carved rootwood figure of a crawling toad. It is 7 1/4" tall and has a character mark to base.

An American "Home Sweet Home" type image of modest home with saying "May every day in every year bless this house with homely cheer", housed in a late 19th century walnut and gilt fillet Victorian style frame. The piece as framed measures 16" by 14". The needlework is in exceptional fresh condition. I am uncertain as to the age of it; I think, younger than the frame. A timeless classic piece for the traditional home.

This porcelain dish was produced in Germany by the Royal Berlin Porcelain Manufactory, known as KPM, in 1920. The dish measures 8 1/2 inches across the handles and is 2 inches high. The porcelain blank has a reticulated border and intricate molded scrolls. The base of the dish stands on four scrolled feet. Soft wood (probably pine) carved shore bird decoy, likely 19th century, with authentic wear including missing paint, pellet holes, and broken off beak. The work measures approximately 9 1/2" by 6" extreme dimensions, not including the wood base. The eyes appear to be metallic tacks. I am not a decoy specialist but wonder if this might be by any recognized carver. In any event, the piece is a great example of folk art Americana.

This porcelain covered box was produced in Germany by Meissen between 1924 and 1934. It has the underglaze blue crossed swords marking with the dot on top. The box is made of the finest porcelain that the Western world has ever produced. It measures 4 ¾ inches long, 3 ¾ inches wide and 1 ¾ inches deep. This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Rosenthal in 1942. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/8 inches and the cup is 1 3/4 inches high. The blank is named “Maria.” The cup has a pedestal base and the rim of the saucer has embossed decoration around the rim. The cup has a gilded interior.
