Large stylized murano glass figure of a kneeling Asian, rendered in two shades of smoky gray glass with amethyst undertones. The figure is made of simple forms, but the attention to detail is evident in the face and head of the figure. The figure stands 13.5 inches (34.2 cm) tall and is slightly over 5 inches (12.7 cm) wide and is 7.5 inches (19 cm) deep. Condition is excellent with no chips, cracks or repairs. Center bowl of opalescent glass with irregular aventurine patches floating in pools of clear teal-blue. Slightly irregular oval, almost egg shaped, bowl measures a (HUGE!) 19 inches (48 cm) by 13 (33 cm) and is 2.5 inches (6 cm) deep. Bowl has a flat bottom with a polished pontil and retains its blue and silver Murano Glass, made in Italy label. Likely an Ermanno Toso design of 1950/1960. Two massive modernist clear glass solitaire vases from the 1950s, each with a large bubble. Designed by Vicke Lindstrand for Kosta, the Swedish glassworks. This is a really pretty Cobalt Blue Crow's Foot Crowsfoot, Line 890, tea or coffee Cup and Round Saucer set made by Paden City. This Saucer measures 6 1/4 Inches in diameter. The Florentine pattern was produced by Hazel Atlas Glass Company from 1932 to 1935. It was made with scalloped edges or straight edges. Although Hazel Atlas didn't distinguish one from the other, collectors today call the scalloped edge 'Florentine 1' and the straight edge style 'Florentine 2'. Offered here is the footed comport in pink in Florentine 2 - straight edge. Excellent condition, see my other listings for more in this pattern.

Stippled Band was the first toy dish pattern produced by Akro Agate. The transparent topaz color pictured here was only made in 1935-6 and is very difficult to find. This stylized conch is documented in several publications, including Leslie Pinas' ITALIAN GLASS, PG 146, valued at $800-$1000 and Helmut Ricke & Eva Schmitts' ITALIAN GLASS. This modern expression of the conch shell exemplifies that even as the Murano glass designers were being influenced by the Modernist movement, life and elements from the Venetian Lagoon continued to serve as an inspiration for artists. Measuring 6.5"w x 3.5" x 5.5"h, the Conchiglie is in good condition, unmarked.

This porcelain miniature tureen was produced in Hungary by Herend between 1905 and 1938. It measures 5 1/4 inches across the handles and is 3 3/4 inches high. It is made of fine, hard paste porcelain. The piece is decorated with little hand painted insects and life-like fruits and vegetables. The finial on the lid is a half a lemon. Condition: Excellent

A beautiful, Murano glass vase with the 'Mezza Filigrana' decor. The decor of the vase is sandwiched between a clear outer glass layer and an inner white glass layer. The glass is 3/8 inches (1 cm) thick. The heavy vase is 13 inches (33 cm) tall and 4 3/4 inches (12 cm) wide. It is without chips or cracks. There are some fabrication/annealing lines (see pictures). Unsigned. Though many Murano glass houses made vases in this technique, this vase is attributed to Barovier & Toso.
