This very well carved lapis lazuli water bowl is 2 ¾” high, 6” long and 3 ½” wide. It depicts a young boy and a small dragon tortoise riding on the back of a large dragon tortoise. A tiny tortoise sits inside the water bowl which is formed from the back of the large dragon tortoise. The piece is accompanied by a black silk brocade box. This is a 1950’s~1960’s product and is in excellent condition.
According to Chinese legend, this tortoise is the oldest of nine dragon children...

Vintage pair of cut jadeite pieces to be used as Chinese scholar’s scroll weights. Stone of olive green color with natural lines and differently colored veins, sides showing the skin of the boulder from which the pieces were cut. Nicely polished, very pleasing objects for a scholar’s desk. Height (left one of the first photo) 2 11/16 inches, weight of the left one 265 grams (9.4 ounces), the right one 210 grams (7.4 ounces).

Antique Chinese Scholars bronze Recumbent Ram Scroll weight with legs tucked under and head turned back the ram has fruit offerings on his back topped with a Ying Yang symbol. The ram shows his age with heavy wear to one eye. Free standing and heavy for the size. Size 2" by 1.5" by .5".
