Je Tsongkhapa (1357-1419), Founder of the Ganden monastery in 1409, is portrayed with lifelike facial expression and graceful bearing. A beuatiful old Chinese ghost buster soap stone carving, with five busted small ghosts. His name is call "Zhong Kui",In Chinese folklores, Zhong Kui is a god who exorcises ghosts and evil spirits. Chinese carved coral scene of two beautiful young shepherdesses with their sheep, one stands with her back against a tall pine tree and blows her whistle, the other feeds the little sheep from a cylindrical container, another sheep and a little lamb frolic nearby, beautifully carved with great detail, mid 20th century. Size with stand: 7 1/2" high. Height of coral only: 6 3/4" high.

A lovely pairing of the bodhisattva diety Kwan Yin riding a Chinese lion or fu dog. The Kwan Yin is set in a leisurely pose with her medicine bottle. Intricate geometric patterns with motifs of clouds and dragons are decorated throughout the statue. Age: mid-20th century Size: length 16" width 7.5" height 25.5"

Chinese soapstone pebble, beautifully carved with scene of three luohan (monks), one is standing with alms bowl outstretched out of which a cloud of mist rises and wraps to the reverse of the pebble, two bats fly over the bowl, surrounding the monks are rocks and low branches, lovely yellow and buff colors, on carved wooden base.
