Wooden okimono of a grinning skull by contemporary carver Brad Blakely (American, b. 1951). The piece represents a Nevadan Lovelock Cave Giant’s Skull, c. 1,000 A.D. Superbly quality carving, exquisite execution of details and textures, beautiful staining. Mountain mahogany & 14K gold reserve with the initial of the carver. Length 2.17 inches.

A large and very attractive, lobed Kutani vase with a high neck in porcelain. The piece is decorated w. a mottled, preussian-blue glaze over which are purplish splashes covering the upper part. Signed in the bottom with a seal Kutani Yasokichi (1907–1997), (second generation Tokuda, and father of Living National Treasure Tokuda Yasokichi. Accompanied by fully signed kiri-box. Japan, Showa, ca. 1970. H 29 cm. CONDITION: Flawless.

A fine and complete set of Tibetan saddle Rugs. The set is composed of a woollen saddle blanket in butterfly shape and a matching saddle seat cover. The central medallion decorated with pair of Snow Lions playing with pearls, beige on red ground; borders with stylised dragons, red and blue on beige borders. Snow Lion is the national emblem of Tibet. Large piece: L. 143 cm x 66 cm; 56 x 26 inches.

Rare subject marine netsuke of a swimming tadpole. Superb stylish carving wonderfully capturing the essence of the creature. Beautiful clean piece, eyes are inlaid with solid gold. Signed MHB on inlaid silver plaque - Michael Henry Birch (1926-2008) was one of the best 20th century netsuke carvers. Length 2.34 inches.

A Hong Mu Suanzhi Abacus (suanpan), RuYi brand, the brass plate shows an address and telephone number in Hong Kong. Not certain of where it is made. First half of the 20C as the telephone number is only 5 digits.

A Beautiful Modern Maki-e Lacquer Kogo, Container for Incense.
The lid and sides are decorated with stylised rocks among waves rendered in low relief with different techniques: kirigane ( small squares of gold foil), fundame (mat gold ground), nashigi (sprinkled gold powder) and shakudo on a kuro roiro shiage (polished black lacquer) background

Solid wooden folk art carving of a giant penis. Strapped around it are red and white twisted cotton cords (imenawash) with paper strips (gohei). Penises of this size were donated to Shinto shrines dedicated to fertility, in the hopes of getting pregnant. Or they were carried around during fertility festivals.

Height of Pot: 9½” (24.13 cm) Width of Pot: 6½” (16.51 cm) Height of Warmer:5 ¼” (13.34 cm) Diameter of Warmer: 6¾” (17.15 cm). Song Dynasty styled. Both Qingbai wine pot and its matching warmer are gracefully glazed in the color of greenish jade. The pot has a seated animal atop its cover while the wine warmer is shaped like a blooming lotus-flower. Both pieces boast of their refined workmanship whose history may be dated back to the Song Dynasty (960-1127)...

In mostly satin stitch and cross stitch in silk thread, this piece measures 45½ x 36½ inches (115.6 x 92.7 cm). Saye goshe are an Uzbek V-shaped fringed hanging used to decorate piles of quilts when they are stored during the day. The blazing colors on this textile depict traditional Uzbek motifs with stylized pomegranate flowers. Still living in yurts, the Lakai Uzbek have perfected the interior decoration of their homes...
Framed Zen Crane Under the Moon Painting by the Famous Korean Jeju Island Monk, Ko Chang Nyul aka Jung Kwang Sunim aka the Mad Monk (1935-2002).
