This is a very colorful Japanese Plique-a-Jour cloisonne vase. The colors used are a little different than most and contrast beautifully.(See images) Condition is very good. But when held up to bright light a line can be seen. It does not show in normal lighting. The vase is even a little different size. It stands 3 5/8 inches tall.

Japanese Edo Staghorn and leather Tobacco pouch and Pipe case with lacquered ojime bead. The pouch has a censor menuki type clasp . The leather appears warn but the stitching is tight and the leather supple and useable. No pipe but most Kiseru pipes will fit . Horn l 7.75" the pouch 4.5" by 3"

A small embroidered tobacco pouch ("kochor") from Indus Kohistan. Measuring 13 x 13 cm, in extremely fine cross, tent and satin stitching in silk thread, the edges and front surface embellished with red, green and white beadwork. Estimated age: mid 20th century. This pair of vases was recovered from an estate in the Castroville/Watsonville area of California, over 20 years ago. This area is known as the Artichoke Capital of the world. When I recovered these vases they had been lamps and have since had the bottom drills hole restored. These vases are old but probably not Meiji era. They do have silver rims with scalloped wire trim at the edges of the enamel. The colors and shading are wonderful...

A woman's shawl from Waziristan dated to the early 20th century. Woven black cotton field with silk fringes, and intricate silk embroidery throughout. It measures 49 inches in width, 103.5 inches in length (124.5 cm x 262.9 cm). Condition is excellent, just some minor discolorations to be expected from a textile of this age. Waziristan ("land of the Wazir") is a mountainous region near the Northwest of Pakistan, bordering Afghanistan and covering some 11,585 km (4,473 sq mi)...

Interesting set of two Indian or Nepalese silver figurines of musicians, c. early 20th. century.

The figures are made of fairly high grade silver, at least .800 or more. They are well-made with lots of added bangles and both playing instruments.

Japanese woodblock print depicting a lone leafless tree at dusk set against a gold leaf background titled "Evening View (Dusk)" by Joichi Hoshi (1913-1979). Pencil-signed "Joichi Hoshi" and dated '77 at the lower right, with the artist's square red seal above. Pencil-titled in kanji at the lower left and numbered 43/99. A penciled inscription on the upper back reads "8408 S-1 12/12" and the original price of 100,000 yen is at the bottom of the back...

This prewar satsuma reclining cat is 9 inches long, 5 ½ inches wide and 4 inches tall. It is in good condition. Some color has rubbed off.

19thc Hindu black and white marble temple Shiva lingam Yoni . Size H 6" w 10" weight 12 pounds, mortar from altar top mounting and losses as seen in the pictures.

Chinese brown ceramic figure of a duck sitting with one wing raised, head turned back to preen feathers. Intricately incised details of feathers. Decorated all over with tiny white glaze dots. The eyes and bill of duck are beautifully glazed.
